"Never again - Unfortunately, our experience here has not been a good one. We used to come here often years ago, but unfortunately, the campground is no longer worth recommending. Prices have gone up significantly, but the restroom facilities have remained the same—or, rather, have clearly seen better days. Charging 50 cents for the showers is an outrage. The portable shower units are infested with vermin, and the showers in the restroom building, unfortunately, can no longer be adjusted after inserting 50 cents. Water keeps running, it’s much too hot, and there’s no temperature control. Unfortunately, we weren’t informed at check-in that the showers cost extra, so we were left without a shower on our first night. The reception desk closes at 5 p.m., there’s no change machine, and the French fry stand wasn’t willing to give us change. The soap dispensers were constantly empty—sorry, but you can’t just take money and do nothing else. The paths to the restrooms aren’t lit at night, and there are trash cans only in the front area. Charging a fee for the dog is fine, but it would be nice to have one or two dispensers for poop bags with corresponding trash cans. We were also a bit bothered that there’s no water hookup on the large lawn. Carrying water around in nearly 39 degrees isn’t fun. The value for money is very poor. We travel a lot—we even enjoy visiting small campsites for a weekend—but we’ve never been this disappointed. You can get much more for less money elsewhere.

"Disaster - Unbelievable, the large meadow is closed due to muddy ground, you are pushed off to the parking lot in front of the site. There was no email in advance despite a reservation. You sit here without a water connection or electricity. Without solar we would have been lost. Around 50 "stranded" motorhomes and caravans share two ladies' toilets, two men's toilets and two showers each. Hygiene may be a foreign word. When we asked if we could also use the sanitary facilities on the site, we were told "...if you are standing there, yes" We did anyway, but these were also in a poor technical and dirty condition. Unfortunately, there is nothing free in the area for the Father's Day weekend, so we have to hold out or go back earlier. And for that we were charged the full amount. For us it was the first and last time on this site, or rather on its outdoor parking lot. Only the weather was great, but fortunately the operator doesn't deserve a plus point for that. One out of five stars, unfortunately nothing less is possible. Never ever again.

"Unbelievable - Disrespectful staff who threaten you with "let's see what happens this night" if you listen to music at room volume 2 minutes above the "night's rest". The colonial owner, who unleashes his arrogant son on humanity as a parking attendant, has no sensitivity for small discrepancies. And I would like to emphasize at this point that these were really small things. I do not recommend this place if you have a little fun in mind for your vacation. Too bad you can't give 0 stars plus report to the local police. We really knew what to do with the threat.

"Unacceptable sanitary facilities - No sockets. Hairdryers therefore impossible. Extremely bad showers with a thin hard water jet so that even the clothes in the anteroom get wet. Only cold water for washing up. And all this for a hefty 24€ per night for a camping bus and 2 people.

"Very dirty but beautifully situated - The sanitary facilities near the water, which consist of a container, are a disaster. There isn't even a toilet seat at every toilet and hasn't been for months. Otherwise filthy and only cleaned in the morning even when there are 500 more guests than usual. Garbage bins almost always overflowing and therefore unpleasant smell. If the location wasn't so nice, I wouldn't go there again.

"Suitable for boats or for shopping in the outlet, otherwise less so - Let's start with the arrival: The site is well signposted, but the access road is very confusing. You have to stop at the marina and register. The reception speaks good German, but is somewhat taciturn. The entrance (barrier) can be opened with a barcode ticket. However, it is impossible to insert the ticket without a trailer close by, with a trailer you have to get out or let the co-driver get out. There are signs on the site indicating that through traffic is allowed. The pitches: We stood on the large meadow, there are no marked pitches here, you are told at reception to position yourself as you wish. However, you have to be careful where you put your pitch, because there are only a few power connections in the middle of the meadow (in our opinion, too few). The location: The campsite is well located, close to the outlet center of Roermond and the city center. It is also located directly on the Meuse and has its own harbor. The sanitary facilities: There is only one container on the large meadow, which can only be reached via two very high steps. There are 4 toilets and two showers for each gender (showers cost €0.50). Outside there are two hand wash basins with cold water only. There is no hand dryer or soap at all. The chemical toilet may not be emptied at this container, so you have to walk halfway across the pitch. Leisure activities: There are several playgrounds for children and a sandy beach where swimming is permitted at your own risk. Entertainment is only offered at weekends. Comparative price: 1 car with caravan, 2 adults and electricity for 4 nights € 90.50 We think this is a proud price.

Profil

Very large campsite with plenty of pitches on a grassy meadow. The campsite is located right by the town of Roermond, directly on a river. The access is easy to find and also suitable for larger motorhomes. There are several …sanitary buildings, including simple container showers and toilets – all very clean, well-maintained and practical. Many campers bring their motorboats, and there’s a large playground for children. There’s also a private swimming area with a sandy beach. Boat trips in the surrounding area are easy to do.
