"NOT RECOMMENDED - Place booked, confirmation received! Arrived on 25.06.24, 15 h restaurant, reception closed. No contact person to be found. Called several times, no connection. Talked to a camper on the pitch, he confirmed that this was the normal case, the owner was very unreliable. 2 days later, I met the owner at my fishing spot, and when I asked him about it, there was no response, let alone an apology! I can only warn against relying on a booking confirmation from this place. It could be that you have to leave again without success. THIS IS AN IMPOSSIBLE BEHAVIOR AND A BUSY BUSINESS; unfortunately, a "zero star rating" is not possible.

"Very quiet place, but unfriendly place owner - We misunderstood the landlady about the position we should take. As a result, her husband reprimanded us like little children after we had set up. You can do that, but you don't get satisfied customers that way. There are small floor cloths lying around everywhere in the toilet house, a proper doormat would be helpful to keep the dirt out. When entering the toilet / shower house, anyone over 1.80 must be careful not to hit their head on the beam in front of the door. Hot water costs extra, not a problem at all for the overnight price, but I generally don't like paying for showers. Conclusion: Really nice place if you like to be self-sufficient and don't need anything from outside, except possibly electricity.

"Not recommended - Unfortunately, there is nothing left of the once beautifully maintained and quiet campsite. We cannot recommend this campsite to anyone, neither as a permanent camper nor as a vacationer. There can no longer be any talk of peace and quiet and a well-kept, clean site. If there are more guests on the site, the operator is totally overloaded and overwhelmed with the garbage. The rats then feel very comfortable here. Furthermore, there is no sign of peace and quiet on the site. There is building, hammering and sawing going on throughout the season, but a carpentry workshop is very quiet. If you have the necessary change, you can hire a company that starts at 7 a.m. without prior notice and works through to 5 p.m., all day long. There is also dog barking, which is not stopped by the dog owners. The operator has no interest in ensuring peace and quiet here either. If you want to go to the campsite at night, you are well advised to do so by car against the campsite rules, as the paths are in a catastrophic state and there is insufficient lighting. A first residence should be registered with caution, as the owner can withdraw the first residence at any time without giving a comprehensible reason. Even the part that was created in the mid-80s and was considered a showcase site until a few years ago. Today it is an area of neglected squares with dilapidated shacks (slums). The operator seems to like it that way, as he gets his money on April 1st. He also likes to avoid the tenants so that there are no conversations or complaints. It is very difficult to meet the owner in person, so it is best to make an appointment.

"Simple, spacious, relaxing - I can only partially understand the other reviews. The first thing to mention is that the pitch costs €3.50, an adult €3.00 and a shower token €1.50. Dogs are free. Dogs are free. You should base your rating on these prices. For fresh water, you drive up to the water house on arrival, fill up and refill with canisters. Waste water via your own tank or wheelie bin. Chemical toilet emptying available. Electricity at the pitch. 2 toilets for men (bring your own paper), 2 urinals, 2 showers. Everything is clean! Just like the whole site. Yes, it is very simple, just as you would expect for the low price. It's rustic, just like camping used to be. Barbecues, some campfires allowed. If you want peace and quiet apart from birdsong and the sound of water, this is the place for you. Sufficient supplies available within a radius of 5km (bakery 2km). Restaurant closed on Monday. Operator was friendly and always approachable. I was there for a week with our dog and we came home deeply relaxed... ...and we would love to come back!!!

"Loveless campsite in a beautiful location by a stream in the countryside - If you want to be welcome, this is unfortunately the wrong place. The campsite is obviously an annoying addition to the hotel and restaurant business. - And that's how you are treated here. When asked politely (!) whether you can still arrive in the evening around 7 pm, the answer was: "If that's the case, I can't change it!..." On site similarly cool and unkind atmosphere & presentation of the facility. The pitch is technically and visually not very inviting. Only the location is nice. Therefore 1 star. Otherwise not recommended at all.

Der Campingplatz Lochmühle liegt im Elbtal – im Westerwald – in Waldnähe. Hier kann man Angeln, Wandern und für Interessierte ist hier auch Camping am Bauernhof möglich. Der Platz liegt direkt an einem kleinen Fluss mit gutem Fischbestand. Auch das …Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man einmal nicht selber kochen möchte.
