Campsite close to the main road, slightly set back, therefore quiet, friendly staff. Pitches on meadow with electricity, sanit. Facilities nice and clean, but not enough when fully occupied. Large, well-equipped kitchen with lounge for tent guests and rental accommodation. Good food in the restaurant,... some service with somewhat long waiting times. Supermarket and good bakery within walking distance, petrol station available. Ideal location for various excursions such as Thorsmörk, Landmannarlaugar and Vestmannaeyar Island. The island of Heimaey can be easily reached by ferry from the new Bakki/Landeyjahöfn harbor near Hvolsvöllur, crossing time 30 min. Approx. 50 KM on the N1 from Hella towards Vik, there is a building on the right-hand side. Here you will find interesting information, documents and a film about the volcanic eruption "Eyjafjallajökull" on March 20, 2010.
