The sea in front, the mountain behind. These are the dominant features of this spacious site. The site is located 10 km from Sligo, directly on Strandhill beach. There is plenty of wind here, which is why tents or awnings should only be pitched securely (storm straps). There are many spacious pitches... on asphalt and grass. The grass pitches are windier but have a more beautiful view over the dune out to sea. The central reception building is well equipped, including a cozy lounge with a fireplace, TV and reading facilities for colder days. The staff are friendly and helpful. In the kitchen there is a gas stove (for a fee, 1 EUR for 20 minutes), microwave, toaster and kettle. In addition to the seating in the kitchen, there is also a great sea view. The washing machine and dryer are new and very effective. The showers can be used with shower coins (1.50 EUR for approx. 5 minutes). But the whole sanitary facility is clean. The way to the beautiful town of Sligo is short, the mountain (Knocknarea) is worth a climb, next to the CP there are very good places to stop for refreshments within walking distance.
