Our stay in May 2025
Hello Tina and Jens, the vacation with you was very relaxing and we felt very comfortable. You are very warm and friendly hosts. The morning visit from two young mouflons was a nice surprise for breakfast. The Knorreichenstieg was a hiking trail with a breathtaking view. It was also really good that... we were able to go on a short kayak tour and that we now have a taste for it. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing you again. Best regards Bärbel, Vanko🐕 and Michael

A visit to the Fürstenklause is also recommended, Abdou and family provided us with delicious dishes and bread rolls
Thank you very much

Service and friendliness very good.
Negativno
The approach is very adventurous, the last few kilometers are not recommended for cyclists. Unfortunately no WLAN on the pitch, only at the reception.
A very nice campsite
We had a nice, spacious pitch under the trees.
At night we had several visits from raccoons, but all harmless.
Tina and Jens, the new tenants, gave us a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere.
The lake is great for sailing and canoeing.
Hiking is highly recommended.

Unfortunately I was unlucky with the weather. Unfortunately no W LAN on the pitch, only at the reception.
Top service and friendliness
I had a nice, quiet, spacious place under the trees.
At night I had a visit from a raccoon, but it was all harmless.
There are great play facilities for children.
I was lent a 25 m cable reel and my boat was transported from the pitch to the lake.
Tina and Jens, the new tenants, give you a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere.

You have to drive a bit to go shopping, poor internet - neither of which bothered us.
Peace and relaxation in beautiful nature
We were there with a tent. Very nice groundskeeper couple. Fantastically beautiful area. Peace and quiet was wonderful for relaxing. Poor internet contributes to the peace and quiet and didn't bother us. You can go hiking, but you should be physically fit. Edersee invites you to do water sports. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful view of Lake Edersee and the Kellerwald National Park. Pure nature 😌
Negativno
When there is little water in the Edersee 😊
Beautiful place
Very nice campsite run by a nice new couple. The two always have a nice word for the guests and the permanent campers. The communal kitchen was renovated in 2019. I wish you a great start to the new season.

Impossible groundsman
The groundsman's remarks were insulting. Otherwise an idyllic, quiet place.

Location, sanitary facilities clean and functional, kiosk available - everything you need can be purchased on site.
Negativno
No night's sleep, unfriendly staff, few leisure activities within walking distance, little space for a tent
Idyllically situated complex with major points of criticism
The campsite is at the end of a forest path about 2.5 km long - in dry weather it is still easy to reach, but I wouldn't want to have to drive on it with a caravan. On arrival, nothing seemed to stand in the way of a relaxed camping weekend apart from the annoying remarks of the staff - despite making... a reservation, unfortunately we only got "edge pitches" in a sloping position (tent). But never mind. Unfortunately, there is no real "attraction" within walking distance in the immediate vicinity. Car could not be parked next to tent. Now to the big point of criticism: The house rules listed on the homepage were not enforced. Instead of a night's rest at 10 p.m. (okay, it wouldn't have been a problem until midnight...), several musicians played until almost 4 a.m.. Unfortunately, this meant we didn't get any sleep, and some children of baby age couldn't stop screaming because of the noise. In any case, as is usual on other campsites, the house rules should also be "lived" here! Unfortunately, because of this point, no recommendation from us.

unfriendly staff, there is virtually no night's sleep, no nice entrance to the water (very stony and cold)
Highly recommended!
We actually wanted to get away from it all for a few days and relax: We came across this campsite, signed up and then went there on our date.Once apart from the somewhat difficult approach, the whole area was really beautiful and idyllically situated, but there were no activities to do apart from sunbathing,... swimming and boating, it's just very far from the shot. Now to our serious negative points: When we registered, we had the pleasure of dealing with a gentleman with a long moustache who tried to score points with his smart-mouthed, know-it-all attitude. Many or almost all of our questions were answered with counter-questions or "stupid" remarks, and that in chord. Furthermore, we had made a reservation in advance and were simply told on arrival that we should look for a free seat. The reservation was useless in our case. The biggest negative point on our part was the much hoped-for after-rest.... which was practically NOT there: there were two groups who thought they had to demonstrate their singing skills until almost dawn and at such a volume that nobody could even close an eye. Small children were also woken from their sleep and started to cry. Shortly before sunrise, it was quiet for just under an hour. The worst thing about it was that none of the staff intervened and made the slightest attempt to bring about calm. It was simply awful, not a trace of rest and quiet. We went straight home the next day, NEVER AGAIN!

Please note that the approach is via an approx. 2.5 km long gravel road steeply downhill with very tight hairpin bends. For the most part, it is not possible to avoid oncoming traffic and is very dangerous. When driving uphill with vehicles without four-wheel drive after stopping, it is almost impossible... to pull away. Conclusion: A beautiful site with extremely difficult access for caravans and larger motorhomes. I would not dare to drive to this site a second time with my 2.5 m wide and 5.8 m long caravan.
