"Good place with small blemishes - Overall, we really liked the "Großer Weserbogen" campsite in Porta Westfalica and it is definitely worth recommending. The approach is straightforward and the site is well signposted, so we had no problems finding it. The welcome at reception was extremely friendly and warm. Check-in went quickly and smoothly, which immediately left a positive first impression. Our pitch (number 222) was in a very pleasant location with plenty of partial shade - ideal for sitting outside and relaxing on warmer days. It was particularly practical to have our own electricity connection at the pitch. One small disadvantage, however, is that there is no direct fresh and waste water connection. The wash house was in the immediate vicinity and was always clean and well maintained. The showers were modern and easy to use. You need a rechargeable card for the showers, which worked well overall. However, we found the number of toilets to be somewhat limited when the site was full. The campsite also has a swimming lake, which is great for cooling off in good weather, and a restaurant. The food there was very tasty and the range of organic meat on offer was particularly good. The location of the campsite is a big plus point: it is an excellent starting point for cycling tours. The paths along the Weser are very well developed and lead through beautiful countryside. We particularly enjoyed the routes towards Bückeburg and the Kaiser Wilhelm monument. Overall, we had an all-round successful stay. We would visit the campsite again and can recommend it with a clear conscience.

"Beautifully situated campsite on the Weserbogen - We have been to the Weserbogen several times and have the impression that the cleanliness is deteriorating. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. But the cleanliness is deteriorating due to the obvious overcrowding at Whitsun. It's a shame really, a second wash house would be appropriate given the occupancy of the site.

"DEFECTIVE and OUT OF SERVICE - What you encounter most often are the indications: *DEFECTIVE* or *OUT OF SERVICE* Of FOUR stoves in the kitchen, FOUR were defective. In the men's washrooms, some sinks were so clogged that they didn't drain properly. (EKELIG) It was the same with some of the urinals. The camping butler was also, how could it be otherwise *DEFECTIVE* What was also noticeable was that despite the not exactly modest costs *WLAN* was a foreign word on this site.

"Did not meet expectations at all! - It was more defective than usable!!! Wash houses badly heated! Showers have little water pressure! We were there for the first and last time! Simply disappointing....

"Stay with negative influences - We were a trio (grandma with 2 small grandchildren) in the rented apartment. No information in advance that the hot water in the kitchen and shower/sink did not work. But delayed shower card without credit. We stood undressed under the shower in the sanitary building and there was no water available. An unparalleled back and forth. In addition, the comments that you shouldn't make such a fuss and that you can get by without hot water. The food is also not exactly of good quality and not very tasty. It wasn't always like this. We have been coming to the lake and the restaurant as day guests for many years. The interior furnishings are poor and unappealingly outdated. Toilets mostly not very clean. The outdoor area is quite unsightly, especially in high season, due to full ashtrays and used dishes from previous guests. However, this is quite understandable given the short staffing of the service team. In addition, the owner's deputies try to misunderstand you and twist the facts in a very unobjective and sometimes distant manner.

"Rereraturstau - I often visit friends on the course. The green areas are good, but three of the 11 washbasins in the men's section are defective. One of only 3 wash cubicles is defective. For the ladies, out of 10 washbasins, 4 are defective and some of the lights are faulty. Some of the water points are not turned on or there is only a small amount of water. This has been the case for over a year. I've been to many campsites and even with old facilities, a fault is rectified after 2 days. Apparently nobody here is bothered by this.
