A beautiful, clear sea with very few waves

We spent two weeks at this campground in September 2026. Due to serious shortcomings in service and significant safety issues, we cannot recommend this campground. 1. Inadequate complaint handling by the front desk: On the third day of our vacation, we were threatened with expulsion by security for a nighttime disturbance, for no valid reason. This was clearly a case of security mistaking our campsite for another, as the music was coming from a completely different site. Nevertheless, there was an erroneous incident report at the front desk that falsely accused us. Instead of thoroughly investigating the incident through the service department, we were fobbed off with a superficial excuse. A firm promise from management to clarify the matter and provide feedback that same evening was simply ignored until our departure. We received no response, either by email or in person. For me, as someone with pre-existing health conditions (depression and anxiety attacks), this unjustified and unresolved accusation caused enormous psychological distress, which completely ruined the restorative value of the first week. 2. Infrastructure and Safety on the Premises: - On-site traffic: At night, staff drive golf carts across the grounds, sometimes without lights and at excessive speeds. In addition, some drivers are distracted by their smartphones. - Pathway lighting: In many areas of the walkways, there are no light sources at all. This quickly leads to falls and tripping accidents on the unlit gravel paths. - Enforcement of campground rules: The driving ban starting at 11:00 p.m. is enforced with a double standard. While campers are required to comply, restaurant patrons are allowed to leave even at midnight in extremely loud vehicles. - On-site supermarket: The return of returnable bottles was not handled properly. Bottles purchased the previous day were refused despite presentation of the receipt.

Conclusion:
We actively sought a clarifying, face-to-face conversation on site, but the campground management did not respond. Since we were given no other opportunity to resolve this misunderstanding, we are now posting this review. The value for money and the way guests are treated here are not in good proportion.

Large square in a prime location by the sea
Overall, the campground is very large and boasts an impressive location right on the ocean. Its size ensures a wide range of amenities, but it also means longer walks depending on the location of your site. The ground on our site (1557) was littered with many stones, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot... even on the awning mat.

Laundry Facility 1 made a very good impression: It was consistently clean, as cleaning staff were always on site. Water pressure and temperature were consistent and pleasant.

The service at the front desk was professional and friendly, and operations seemed well-organized.

The seaside location is a definite plus. However, the beach consists mainly of gravel, which is why water shoes are practically a must. A pier with a ladder leads directly into the water, where you can reach the sandy area beyond the gravel.

In terms of dining, the campground’s restaurant and pizzeria offer very good quality at fair prices. Entertainment is provided, and the range of sports activities is extensive, so there’s something for everyone.

Despite the campground’s size, it was generally quiet at night, though dark, since the lights were turned off at night.

Disappointed after years
We have been coming to this campsite for over 10 years and have always enjoyed it. Our disappointment is all the greater this time.

One of the main reasons why we booked this site again was the advertised gym. The gym is still shown on the website, including photos, and advertised as being available... for use. On site, however, we discovered that it had already been demolished. We were not informed of this either before arrival or at check-in.

When we approached reception about this, they did not help us. Instead, we were told to contact the management by email. Unfortunately, the management did not show any concessions or suggestions for solutions. For us, a gym is an important part of a vacation and a decisive criterion when choosing a campsite. We therefore feel that we were given misleading information and disappointed.

In addition, there was considerable construction noise during our stay. The sanitary facilities also do not meet the standard that one would expect based on the advertising. Modernized facilities are advertised, but many wash houses are still in an older condition.

The advertised diving school was also not available. We had to drive all the way to Simuni for diving activities, which was an additional expense.

On a positive note, we would like to highlight the prices in the restaurant and at the bar. These are fair and reasonable, which is unfortunately not a given these days.

It is a pity that long-time regular guests receive so little support and understanding when they make justified criticism. We hope that the information on the website will be updated in future and that guests will be informed transparently about such changes before their arrival.

The main thing is expensive
The water in the sanitary building is either freezing cold or boiling hot, or it doesn't come out at all when someone is showering next to you. after several complaints, nothing has happened, except that I was told that this building has not yet been renovated. Water connection at the caravan doesn't... work either, we have no water at the pitch. unbearable noise from Zrce Beach until 5am. Unfriendly staff who prefer to tell you exactly how to park your car or harass you at the barrier before taking care of the important things.

Very nicely located campsite with large pitches both sunny and shady. Very annoying the extremely many dogs on the place and although there are designated beaches for dogs, some do not stick to it. My suggestion to the campsite would be to add the pitches for these people to the designated dog beaches and make the other part of the campsite dog-free. This would help everyone and everyone would have a relaxing vacation.

Sea beach family camping
We spent our family vacation here and had a very nice time. The Bar Val with the view of the sea is wonderful. The sports facilities are great. Our pitch was shady and large. It would be nice if all tents were included in the pitch price. The campsite is centrally located. Ideal for teenagers. There... is a train connection. Unfortunately the connection costs money. The only thing that stressed us out a bit were the paper cards without which you can't get to the campsite. A different system would be nice here. Thanks to the cleaning ladies who cleaned constantly

If you like a large campsite with animation and correspondingly loud noise, this is the place for you. The reception was cool and impersonal. The reserved pitch was free and sufficient in size.
When we left the site with the scooter we had problems re-entering. We were told that the scooter had to be... registered and then paid for accordingly. In the pre-season €3 and then the fee rises to €6.50 per day!
This has never happened to me in 40 years of camping that you don't have to pay for anything.
The much-praised Wi-Fi is a disaster.
The sanitary facilities are quite good if it weren't for the black mold on the washbasins, sinks, etc. Black mold would be.
The management of the campsite still has a lot to learn. We cannot recommend the campsite and will not come back. If you have a scooter you should follow it.

This was our 3rd time there and we probably won't be back. The campsite and beach are still beautiful and well maintained. But: Major construction site in the middle of the campsite at the beginning of June. A new restaurant complex is being built. Shell construction at the beginning of June.....???...
Boom, boom, boom all night until 7:00 in the morning from Zrce Beach, sometimes louder, sometimes quieter but always audible, depending on the wind direction.
Staggering, bawling youths in Novalja.
We (50+) are out of place here.

Well-kept, large pitch. Sanitary OK and clean. Friendly reception. Beautiful, spacious pebble beach with dog areas. Depending on the pitch, sometimes long distances to the market and sanitary facilities. Restaurant "Plaza" on site very good. The town of Novalja is no longer beautiful, not very Croatian. Kebab stalls, Japanese restaurants, lounge bars, tattoo studios......wem`s gefällt....

The Strasko campsite is located directly on a narrow pebble beach. The water is gently sloping, so it is also suitable for small children. The whole site is very shady in a forest. There are 2 supermarkets, several ice cream and bakery stands and other stores at the campsite. The wash houses are quite... large, spacious and always clean. Right by the sea next to the campsite there is a water bouncy castle and water sports rental, climbing wall etc. The pool area is very nice, right by the sea. However, without slides etc. and quite crowded in high season. There is also entertainment for children, but ours were already too big for it. There is also a petting zoo and pony rides up by the reception. There is a funicular to Novalja, but it was too crowded to ride at peak times. However, it is not too far to the small town with numerous restaurants and stalls on the promenade. There is also a small amusement park for children on the way to Novalja. People often complain that you can hear the music from the nearby Zrce beach, but we didn't notice anything. Even in Novalja itself, we were not disturbed by partying teenagers. We particularly enjoyed the fireworks, which take place every Tuesday during the season.

All the staff are very friendly and the resort is modern and clean. The sea water is great, why people go into the pool is always a mystery to us🤔

Unfortunately, we also have two points that really bother us. We have been going to this campsite for over 15 years now and have noticed that the campers are getting worse and worse. Now even the towels and sunbeds are deposited on the beach in the morning and unfortunately only used for one hour a day. But you need a place in the sun and shade 😠 What's more, although walking speed is specified, everyone (cars, bikes and e-scooters) drives very fast. Is that still nice? If something is not changed, you should consider whether this place can still be described as "family-friendly". What a pity.

There are house rules but unfortunately they are not enforced. Only if you lie on the beach on the adjacent meadow, because there is no space on the beach for the reasons mentioned above, you are told by the staff that it is forbidden. All other rules of the house rules are not observed by the campers... and are not demanded by the staff... We'll have to wait and see where this leads....
Unfortunately, the store owners change every year... This year there are not as tasty rolls as we know them... Don't get me wrong, the rolls and bread are good.... But not super good 😊 The prices are quite high due to the euro. It's no longer a bargain.

Some of the sanitary facilities are very old , the beach is loveless with concrete slabs and graffiti . After 5 pm it was not possible to stay outside because of the mosquitoes. The pitch was littered with anthills. There was no WLAN on our part of the pitch at any at any time . It was just awful .

We were able to spend our Whitsun vacation here as a family and discovered a gem. Many thanks for the great time.

The place is very long and many things are not centrally located. But it's a vacation, so there should be time for a few more steps.

Our Parelle was just enough for the caravan awning and car. But there are also much larger ones. The sea view is unbeatable, even in row 4+.

Beautiful campsite, with great sea
Nice campsite with everything you need. Our wash house was always clean and the staff were always friendly. We ate very well in the pizzeria and restaurant. The reception could be a bit bigger. The pool area is also rather small for the size of the site but who needs a pool with the sea. We were on the... site in mid-September and it was very quiet. Unfortunately, everyone walks their dogs on the site. If you are not afraid of the long coastal drive from Rijeka, you must definitely visit this beautiful place.
