We went there for the second year with intention and next year, too, we will definitely return. What captivated us? First of all, the incredibly peaceful and family atmosphere. The children have their own playground, and since the area is fenced,... we were able to let them off the hook without worry. The sanitary facilities are clean and well-maintained, which is of great importance with toddlers. The beach is really close, walking about 10-15 minutes through a beautiful forest. You pay really reasonable money, and in return you get a clean, safe and beautifully located piece of nature with full sanitary facilities. There are no unnecessary amenities that elevate the price, instead there is... everything you need for good camping. For the same money elsewhere I would get a concrete yard with no shade. At the "Under the Birches" campground, our little ones ran around barefoot, built bases between the trees and organized trick-or-treating with other kids. This controlled, safe chaos is just what they need! We parents... were finally able to take a breather over coffee during this time. No one paid attention to the louder laughter or shouting. I just want to add one very practical thing for those who go during the peak season (late July and August). We arrived without reservations on Saturday and barely managed to catch the last free spot. We saw that several other people had already left... with a receipt. So it's worth calling and reserving a spot in advance, especially if you're going with a larger camper or want to stand in a particularly attractive, shaded area. Staying here is back to basics, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. We missed a small cafe or bar, where we could have our morning coffee without our own cooking. Wi-Fi internet is there, but coverage is very poor in most of the area. It's a good place for a few days of total seclusion, but if you need to be online a bit, it can be hard. The sites are level, well-paved and spacious. The connections (electricity, water) are impeccable, and sewage disposal and emptying the chemo toilet are handled without a problem. The owner even helped us maneuver on site. The quiet and green surroundings are the icing on the cake. The place is incredibly peaceful and safe. The kids could run all over the grounds, and we didn't have to worry about them non-stop. Beautiful, shady plots under old birch trees gave a pleasant coolness even on hot afternoons. In the evenings, all you could hear was the chirping of crickets... and the rustling of leaves. A nightmare situation could have resulted from this, but the owner of the campground not only helped us "borrow electricity" from the cables, but even called his mechanic friend. The site itself is nicely landscaped, and the neighborhood is not too tight, so you have your space. "Under the Birches" is paradise! We had plenty of room to walk around the campground, and there are beautiful forest trails nearby. The dog could be with us all the time, and the staff even had a treat for him to greet us. No extra charge for the pet is a nice gesture. I am a person who likes order and tidiness. At the campground you can see that the owners take care of this. Trash cans are regularly emptied and the area is cleaned up. The space at our site was perfectly level and well marked.
