We stopped here on the way back. The campground itself is nice, and the sites were large enough—unfortunately, ours wasn’t very level. This campground is geared more toward families. On the days we were there, there were two evening entertainment programs. They go until 11 p.m. A major downside was the... restroom facilities—though I can only speak for Restroom 2 here. There were no urinals in the men’s restroom. As a result, the restrooms looked pretty bad by evening. When we arrived, there was no hot water, and one of the already few showers was closed. Since the campground is quite large and gets pretty busy in the summer, the restroom facilities are absolutely inadequate.
The staff is friendly, and the on-site store provides you with the essentials.

Quiet place with beautiful tall trees
We chose the site because we didn't want to make the return journey from the sea in one day and stayed for 2 nights.
Most of the pitches are huge. The playgrounds for children are also very large. There is a stand of tall trees, so that the site looks like a park in some parts. This does not apply to... the mobile homes, which, as on most sites, stand one next to the other.
You can go hiking and cycling on and around Lac d'Orient, the terrain is very flat (which is why the lake, which was created as a retention basin for the Seine, is so large). However, many of our neighbors just enjoyed the peace and quiet.
The campsite is outside the villages and the nearest town with a supermarket is 10 km away. But it is correspondingly quiet. So if you want to experience the sightseeing and culture of Champagne, but want to leave the hustle and bustle of tourism behind you in the evening, this is the place for you.

The sanitary facilities were dirty and many things were broken (shower cubicle locks, toilet seats, water faucets, especially for the men). For hygiene reasons, swimming shorts must not be worn in the pool. The pool attendant was very friendly when explaining this. He just has to enforce the rule. Only!!!... there was just one shower!!! and there was no toilet seat in the WC. The floor and the toilet were dirty. So a hygiene rule regarding bathing shorts is very questionable. And of course you could buy appropriate swimming trunks in the store. Cheap trunks fresh from the packaging into the pool. That's what I call hygiene. Staff ranged from very cheerful to "ever heard of smiling?". In high season, two days after delivery, the store ran out of non-carbonated water.

Beautiful CP at Lac d'Orient
Beautiful campsite on Lac d'Orient. Sanitary facilities really good for France, clean and tidy, with some very large shower cubicles.
The pitches are huge, but could be better maintained in terms of being mowed and uneven.
In terms of excursions and city trips, only Troyes (approx. 24 km) is really worth... seeing. The other villages within a radius of 30/35 km are much better described in the tourist information brochures than can be found, all in FR/ENG/NL, no descriptions in German. The bakery and butcher's shop in the center of Lusigny-sur-Barse and the fromagerie in Champ-sur-Barse are highly recommended!
A cycle tour around the lake is highly recommended.

Very well organized check-in (also in English), nice large pitches, each with a gravelled area (for the motorhome or car), clean, modern sanitary facilities. All pitches with separate water and electricity supply, CampingCard accepted. Beautiful swimming facility with slides and toddler area...

Very nice, well-kept family campsite - child-friendly
In addition to the advantages: small supermarket available with bread/roll service. The old town of Troyes is half an hour away by car and well worth a visit. The large lake offers further leisure activities.

The hustle and bustle at the lake at weekends is a nuisance
Only too good to pass through
Unfortunately we were only passing through for 2 nights, but we really liked the place. The staff were cheerful and friendly, even when it was busy. The pitches were very large and clean, half gravel and half grass. Almost all with electricity and fresh and waste water on site. The sanitary facilities... in sufficient numbers are relatively clean and well maintained, but only 1 hook in the shower is not enough. The showers in the ladies' area have lacked basic cleaning for days, the sockets for hairdryers are cheekily placed, only accessible with a minimum height of 165 cm. The offer in the restaurant is acceptable, we only tested the wine and found it to be good. The swimming pool with its large slide and almost 100 sun loungers was used by young and old alike.

Short vacation at the lake Lac dòrient
We, I 65 years with son 40 years and dog were absolutely thrilled with the campsite with the Lac only 200 meters away, WHERE DOGS ARE ALSO ALLOWED TO SWIM, but not everywhere, a part was separated for children bathing etc, dogs are not allowed there. Completely fine. The Lac has crystal clear water and... everything kept very clean. The campsite staff was very very friendly and helpful, a praise to the woman who sold baguettes in the morning, always smiling and friendly face for everyone. The sanitary area was super clean and had plenty of space in it. We will go there again on vacation.

Overvalued in our view
In my opinion, the campsite has almost nothing special to offer. The lake is across the road, huge, but also public. Completely overcrowded in summer. Just like the campsite pool. The pitches were parceled out, but some were quite uneven. What is great, however, is that there is electricity, water and... waste water on the spacious pitches. The sanitary facilities are good. However, it reaches its limits when fully occupied. There are no sockets for a hairdryer. We were very happy with the French about the national holiday and winning the World Cup. But the noise level knew no time limits. The party went on until the early hours. So if you are looking for France's Lloret de Mar, you will find it here. The dog costs extra. But there are no dog extras. Neither a bag, nor a dog shower or a gate out to a walkway. We left early, exasperated. No refund possible. We will certainly not come here again.

A worthwhile interim destination
We actually only wanted to spend one night here on the way home. We ended up spending three. The site has a very good infrastructure, from the spacious and clean sanitary buildings to the pool area, the small store and the restaurant. The pitches are also large, equipped with all connections and well adapted to the partly old trees. The ACSI card allows you to stay at this high-quality site at a reasonable price in the low season.

Beautiful place by the lake
Stayed here for one night while passing through, very friendly welcome, large pitches, very clean and large sanitary building, swimming pool, bar, store etc. Would love to come back for a longer stay.
