Camping La Pege Ocene

The campsite is almost on the beach, the weather was perfect even though we were there just before it closed.The showers were always hot and other facilities ( washing up , laundry sinks,dog wash etc) good,. The washing machines were outside the site and public. From the site you can walk along the beach ( it's a long but excellent walk) to two towns where a few restaurants and shops were open.

It would have been nice if the bar/takeaway was open until the end of the season even if the restaurant was closed. As there were plenty of people still using the site we're pretty sure it would have made it financially worthwhile.

For a 4 star we would expect toilet seats and paper in the toilet block.

We booked a three-night stay, but after the first night we had to return home due to circumstances beyond our control (my mom was hospitalized). Of course, we paid for all three nights, but we lost two nights that weren’t refunded. From a business standpoint, that’s terrible—and by the way, is it even legal to charge for services that weren’t used?

The site is quiet and relaxing, The staff are friendly and are quick to help when asked. Anaëlle and Nicolas (Nico) make a real effort to make you feel welcome at the site and are very helpful. The motorhome and touring pitches are individual and are a good size. Direct access to the beach is through a gate and is a very short walk. We have been going to the site for 10 years and will be back again next year.

We really enjoyed our stay at the campground. The accommodations were very nice, and the sauna was simply amazing! We also really liked the location: the beach was just a 2-minute walk from our accommodations, which was really convenient. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back!

On the other hand, I didn’t expect there to be no trash bags or toilet paper in the apartment. Usually, these little things are provided upon arrival. There’s also often a small kit with floor cleaner, dish soap, and a sponge. It would have been nice to have at least some of those for the beginning of our stay.

There was no notice upon arrival stating that you should wait on the street outside the grounds so as not to block access. The restroom facilities are very old and, in some cases, very cramped, with insufficient storage space. The temperature cannot be adjusted; according to the information provided, it ranges from 26 to 28 degrees. Water and sewage facilities—especially the chemical toilet disposal—are an outrage. The access roads to the sites are narrow, and you’re expected to drive in even when entry is prohibited. The trees are beautiful, but when branches hang below 3 meters over the site and the access road.... Other campers are also wondering why the campground has a 4-star rating.

We were looking for peace and quiet, along with some activities in a family-friendly atmosphere. It had it all—and the owners were great.

A campground very close to the ocean with entertainment every night; the owner is super friendly and welcoming, as are the staff. And best of all, the shower water is hot 😁

The proximity to the beach is a big plus. The staff are very welcoming, helpful, and efficient.

The mobile home wasn't very clean. There should be a pass so cars can come and go at any time. We were forced to leave our car on the street at night on several occasions.

The location, the cleanliness of the campground and the mobile homes, and the family-friendly, intimate atmosphere. Adherence to quiet hours after activities.
