VisscherA really fun campground—we had a beautiful spot, the kids made lots of friends, there was a fun playground, they played in the stream and petted the pigs and goats, and they even got to ride ponies. The restrooms are great—very spacious shower stalls, which are ideal with kids—and the dishwashing area is really great too. The restaurant at the campground serves delicious food at a great price. But:
It no longer has anything to do with farm camping. The farm is about 400 m up the road.
The lower part, which is more beautifully situated, is mostly occupied by long-term campers.
The upper section is for tourist campers. That part has a high... proportion of gravel.
We were able to choose a pitch category when booking, but not a specific pitch. Too bad.
Well, the “premium” pitch did have water and electricity. Other than that, nothing was premium. The access road is gravel. The campsite is almost entirely gravel. On top of that, a well-traveled service path ran right through our spot.
The campsites were laid out more like “cozy camping”—no hedges for privacy at all. We could hear our neighbor snoring from inside our trailer.
The staff member’s greeting was brief and to the point. My questions were answered with a reference to a QR code on a flyer handed to me.
The old and new restroom facilities are practically right next to each other. The new restroom facilities are more suited for families with children (family shower, low toilets). In the old restroom facilities, on the second day, the toilet paper was gone in all!! toilet stalls. There was no trash can in the shower room.
Dogs are supposed to be kept on a leash on the campground.
The campground’s dog, a large male Ridgeback, was running around the campground and the adjacent small streets all by himself and off-leash. Well, he peed and marked his territory everywhere.
Especially since not every camper’s dog likes dogs running loose, and other campers might be afraid of dogs.

Local Products at the Shop.NegativnoShortestways to leave the campsite by foot to go to reception were very steep.Nice Schwarzwald-CampingWe loved the little market at the reception with local products, the campsite was large and beautiful Schwarzwald-Landscape around. In the town Oberried nearby is a lovely bakery and if you don't want to cook in the evening just sit down at the own campground restaurant. Sebastián P.julij 2026PozitivnoLocation, accommodations, views, family-ownedNegativnoWe liked everythingA wonderful stay.We stayed in an apartment that’s part of the campground but located outside of it. But you can still enjoy all the amenities.
The apartment was spectacular—spacious, clean, tidy, and well-equipped. It had a beautiful attic. Rustic and comfortable. Firewood everywhere—we’d love to have the chance to... come back in the winter. It was the height of a heat wave, but we didn’t feel hot at all because it’s well-insulated and well-built.
Views of the campground itself, which looked great too. It’s a farm campground, so you can see animals.
New facilities. They go out of their way to please guests without being the least bit intrusive.

On the second day we told reception about the poor or uncleaned facilities. It should be passed on. But even in the next few days there was no major cleaning. Only the washbasins made a carelessly cleaned impression....
The floor, the showers, the garbage cans, the walls were covered in clay, hair in the shower channels on the floor. The remains of the previous guest's toothpaste were still stuck to the side walls above the washbasins.

In addition, there is this magnificent landscape and lots of things to do.
The restaurant on site has a small but perfectly adequate menu. It also serves delicious drinks and, of course, a very tasty schnapps. The staff are very courteous and cheerful! You rarely experience anything like that these days!
