This campground is located near the small village of Covas, deep in the mountains, so the drive there is quite winding. We were there in late June/early July and were almost the only guests. It attracts international guests seeking peace and quiet, and you’re free to choose your own spot. There are designated... campsites and a tent area with great spots under mature trees. Several barbecue areas are available. You can park your car right next to your tent. The tasteful design of the campground—with its cobblestones, the pretty terrace by the pool, the well-maintained sunbathing area, and the subtle lighting at night—is particularly lovely. The calls of peacocks can be heard echoing across the campground from nearby. The pool is impressively large for the small number of guests—we were often the only ones swimming. It’s deep and unsupervised, and there’s also a small children’s pool. Unfortunately, the skimmer doesn’t work very well, but otherwise the water is impeccable. The pool pump is quite loud, so it’s advisable not to camp too close to the restroom building. The restroom facilities are fine overall, though unfortunately there’s a strong smell of disinfectant and sewage. Toilet paper is provided. At the beginning of our stay, the trash cans—which are set up everywhere for disposal—were overflowing, but then they were emptied more regularly; overall, however, more attention could be paid to cleanliness. The on-site restaurant wasn’t open due to the low number of visitors, and the mini-market in town is a bit further away (and takes a siesta). The children’s playground is quite outdated, but there’s also a fitness area that’s well-equipped. The staff is incredibly hospitable, and the price is unbeatable! All in all, a really great place to relax and experience authentic Portugal!

We really enjoyed our stay, it's a park where we felt really comfortable. It has a bar with a great terrace overlooking the pool. There's a restaurant with homemade products and a good white vinho verde. There's a mini market with essential products and a van often comes to sell fresh fish. There's a safe park where children can play to their heart's content. The changing rooms have spectacular showers and the water runs hot and hard.
