The campsite is wonderfully embedded in nature,
We like how friendly and helpful the staff are.
The food in the campsite restaurant was very good and there was something for everyone
You can go for nice walks and the bus connection is optimal. The bus stop is right at the entrance to the parking lot, you can leave your car and get everywhere.
The campsite is highly recommended,
We will be back

The campsite is laid out in terraces and is ideal for day trips. This makes the campsite the perfect choice, especially for our children. The on-site gastronomy offers classic dishes and little surprises (onion roast). The people are friendly and helpful and you can tell that the campsite is family-run.

Cycling was too strenuous for the kids, but that was already foreseeable, after all the campsite is in the middle of the Allgäu mountains. And there are no swimming facilities for hot days. There is a fun pool in nearby Oberstaufen and the large Alpsee lake is within easy reach, but a small pool or something similar would be a real highlight for families.

The booking was super easy, the service in advance and also extremely helpful on arrival. We received a very friendly welcome on site and were given a comprehensive introduction to the apartment, the facilities and the surrounding area. Despite the kitchen in the apartment, we ate relatively often in... the restaurant because it was delicious and close by. The surroundings are a dream. Hiking trails are right on the doorstep, but the natural history museum in Dornbirn (approx. 30 minutes) was also a highlight. When we had a problem with my husband's bike, the groundsman was a real savior. The camping barrels are also great, but unfortunately they were fully booked. We'll try them out another time. A small playground, the varied terrain and the apartment itself kept the kids well occupied, only the puberty was annoyed because the Wi-Fi wasn't good enough for Twitch. The other guests were very accommodating, many of them have been coming for years or decades, but you get a very friendly welcome. You can also find out about the many hiking trails on site, which range from 30-minute easy tours to day tours. You can shop in the campsite store (e.g. bread rolls) or in the surrounding villages. We will definitely be back, either without bikes or by renting e-bikes.

Sleeping in a barrel with terrace
We only spent one night in the Wolpertingerhöhle sleeping barrel, but found our round wooden hut very cozy and especially the children liked the wooden tent.

Great days in a central location
The site is centrally located for hiking excursions in all directions! The Nagelfluhkette is not far away and the Bregenzerwald is only a stone's throw away! With the guest card you even get a discount on various cable cars and at the Aquaria in Oberstaufen! There's great service everywhere on the site... and everything is clean! The pitches are spacious and the price-performance ratio is unbeatable! But above all, priceless: friendly staff from front to back!!! Thank you very much, we will be back!

Very beautiful nature all around, also good excursion possibilities.

Toilet containers have to be disposed of via a poorly accessible staircase, and the water also has to be carried up this staircase.

There are far nicer campsites, not suitable for modern times, and there are beautiful excursion destinations nearby.

Did you only give us one star because our disposal point has to be reached via 3 steps?
To be honest, we find this unjustified and not meaningful for other interested parties.

It would have been nice if you had shared the whole experience and also made statements... about the cleanliness, the staff and the service.

"Far nicer campsites" is a broad term. If you are comparing us to a 4 or 5 star campsite, you may be right - but then we were the wrong choice as a small, family-run campsite that has grown over 52 years.

If you have any constructive criticism, we would be delighted to hear from you - because this is the only way we can improve. Unfortunately, we cannot eliminate the slope and therefore the stairs.

The reception staff also gave us a friendly welcome.

Beautiful place in the Allgäu
We had spontaneously decided to spend a few more days on vacation in the Allgäu and drove to this campsite. We received a friendly welcome and were allocated a pitch. As the other reviews have already written, the pitch is on a slope and we were quite far down, but this is not a problem for people without... disabilities. The catering should also be mentioned: the bread roll service and a restaurant (which we unfortunately couldn't try out due to the short time available). The site itself is in a very scenic location and is a great starting point for cycling and hiking tours.

Super! We really enjoyed it :)
The site is located directly on the road and yet is totally quiet. Due to the large number of permanent campers, it doesn't seem all that inviting at first. However, the very friendly campsite team immediately makes up for this impression. The sanitary facilities are a little dated, but very clean. Due... to the terraced layout of the entire site, it is not necessarily suitable for people with physical disabilities. The restaurant on the site is very friendly and the food on offer is delicious! The location is a great starting point for hiking and skiing tours to various hotspots in the region. All in all, absolutely recommendable!

Hermann' 50s
We celebrated my husband's birthday as a surprise party at the Campingstüble. My daughters and I had to discuss and organize a lot by phone and it all worked out. Although we were strangers, we were welcomed with open arms. Moni, Dietmar and Klaus are a real dream team and can't be beaten for friendliness,... not to mention Moni's cooking skills. We were able to completely leave everyday life behind us for 2 days. How wonderful it will be on our next vacation when we stay longer. Cheers to you, your Hermann with Carola, Annika and Verona.

Relaxing summer vacation
We (2 adults, 2 children (11 & 10 yrs) spent our summer vacation in a tent here in August. We like it when campsites are smaller and more personal, which is what we found here. Both the management and groundsman Klaus and the operators of the Campingstüble were always friendly and helpful. The men's... washrooms were (freshly) renovated, the women's washrooms are still awaiting renovation, but more importantly, the sanitary facilities were always clean. Apart from that, coziness was the trump card and that is known to be an outstanding quality in Bavaria. In any case, we looked for and found a down-to-earth campsite and really enjoyed our stay. You can only rave about the Allgäu, i.e. the surrounding area in Oberstaufen. Mountain railroads (Hochgrat, Hündle, Imberg), beautiful huts, cows and much of it included with the Oberstaufen Plus Card, that's a great offer. We had some bad weather but in Oberstaufen there is the Aquaria for such cases (also here Oberstaufen Plus).
