"Lonely on the mountain - The campsite and all its facilities are outdated. The staff make a lot of effort, but I wouldn't stay here for more than one night. The access roads are also in poor condition. There are no level pitches. However, if you are looking for absolute peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Near the town of Montese, situated in a mountainous and wooded area, you will find the simple, small campsite Ecochiocciola. You are camping here in the Emilia-Romagna region, which is less touristy than the famous and much visited Tuscany, but …certainly worth a visit. Panoramic view for tent campers On the simple terraced campsite (1 ha in size), a lot of attention has been paid to greenery and flowers. Various coniferous, fruit and deciduous trees provide shade. For campers with a tent, there are delimited pitches with a beautiful view, where you are surrounded by flowers and plants. The 43 touring pitches vary in size (50 to 75 m²). Caravans and motorhomes don't have it so easy here, there are only a few pitches available for them. Nice rental accommodation In addition to pitches, there is also accommodation for rent, including eight pretty wooden cottages. You also have the choice between a hobbit cottage or a tree hut, but also a cottage with a bathtub and large windows. Beautiful view from the swimming pool The campsite has a small swimming pool (99 m²), which fills up quickly when children play in it. From the swimming pool and the sunbathing lawn you have a beautiful view of the mountain landscape of the Appenines. For children there is some playground equipment and a table tennis table. You can also play volleyball and tennis. Enjoy the international cuisine On request, the owner Ottavio cooks for the campsite guests. He serves very tasty local dishes, but also cooks international dishes. These are inspired by the countries he visited on his long journeys to South America and Nepal. You can have a drink at the bar.
