- TGTina G.julij 2026A campground where you can relax and explore the Harz MountainsUnfortunately, we were only in the beautiful Harz Mountains/Walkenried for a weekend and stayed in the CampingPod there. We received a very warm welcome and were immediately impressed by the lovely campground. Peaceful, idyllic, and such a cozy atmosphere! The restroom facilities were top-notch! The... Pod had everything we needed: a comfortable bed, a small freezer, electricity, and a small patio with two chairs and a table. I’d book it again in a heartbeat! There are plenty of shaded campsites, which we really liked. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and knowledgeable. A small indoor pool is included, and we had a delicious meal at the restaurant. Shopping options are just a few minutes away—in Walkenried and Ellrich.
The indoor pool is sometimes used by the DLRG for swimming lessons for kids. That’s great! A lot of kids can’t swim these days.
The bathroom for people with disabilities is... spacious, so my husband was able to come in to help me shower.
The restaurant accommodated my allergies, and I was able to enjoy my meal without any issues.
We also had absolutely no problems setting up our trailer, even on uneven ground.
The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Mowing the lawn and tending the flower beds are the easiest tasks. The mini-golf course should be painted—or at least cleaned. The paths between the holes should also be weeded from time to time. The fishing pond is a stagnant pool where the carp are gasping for oxygen.... The soccer field has turned into a wildflower meadow, and the volleyball court is overgrown. The barbecue area looks dilapidated and unappetizing. Cleaning and renovating would help here, too. The indoor pool needs exterior renovation. It really is unsightly. After a horde of young children—presumably from the town—took over the pool twice, I decided against my planned visit. The restroom building looked clean on the inside. Our mobile home was poorly furnished and not really clean. As a guest, I pay a cleaning fee. How is that money being used? Parts of the mobile home, corners of the furniture, the stools at the dining table, and the electric kettle are worn out. The radiators were dirty and worn out. The showerhead holder was broken, so we had to be careful that the showerhead didn’t fall down. We liked the porch. The staff was generally friendly. Why couldn’t I pre-order and pay for bread rolls in advance for the entire stay? We left a day early. We weren’t asked for a reason either when we announced our early departure or when we returned the keys. Why is the Kiwi restaurant closed? We expected it to be open during the season, i.e., between April and October. Wi-Fi is available, but the reception is so poor that I had better coverage with my cell phone provider’s spotty network. We paid €479 plus tourist tax. That’s definitely too expensive. I regret that we decided against another provider, because “Premium”—as it’s called on the website—is anything but here. Ruhig und idyllisch gelegen, fast wie Camping im Wald. Der Check-in und Check-out lief absolut komplikationslos. - GKGerrit K.junij 2026Never againOur campsite was much too small. The car barely fit. The men’s showers were closed. All the men had to share a single accessible washroom and shower. On top of that, this campground in Knaus was the most expensive one we visited during our vacation in Germany. We paid €54 here, while the other five campgrounds cost between €30 and €40. The staff are super friendly and despite our last-minute reservation there were no problems.
The site is a bit dated but is well maintained. The sanitary facilities are recent and always clean.
Unfortunately there is currently... no children's entertainment due to a lack of staff. However, this is not the fault of the site operator.
The friendliness of the operators is transferred to the guests and so it's a real pleasure to drive in the Harz!

Sanitary not up to date but everything clean and sufficient. Indoor pool, mini golf etc. all included in the price. That was great. Electricity doesn't cost extra either. The restaurant on site... was great and super nice.
We were a large group and had 5 pitches together.
Unfortunately there is no water on many pitches. But water points within sight.

The campsite team responded to our wishes and needs in a very helpful and friendly manner. A large pitch in the shade of the trees was perfect for us. We were able to enjoy the campsite facilities - mini golf, beach volleyball,... The short walk from the campsite into the village and to the monastery ruins along the Wieda is beautiful. You couldn't sit in front of the caravan because of the roots on the pitch. For bad weather nobody can do anything but for a place of this "price range" a mud fight and partly not passable parking spaces is not a good advertisement.
