"50 years of the NRW youth fire department - Hello I'll start with the things that we didn't like but could be overlooked: WLAN at the campsite did not work (when we asked, we were told that it had not been working for a long time and if it did, it would only be very poor quality) Allegedly renovated wash house (we tested all three wash houses, but didn't find the renovated one) Refurbished sauna ( We visited the sauna and yes it is new. But the sauna garden is not worth the name. Building yard or storage area for building materials would be more appropriate) Now the things that caused us to cancel our annual vacation (despite having already paid). Without our knowledge, without a hint when booking in January, without a hint on arrival, without a hint when checking in, the pre-command of the NRW youth fire department arrived on 11.07.2025. First, a deep-freeze truck was brought into position. From then on, the freezer unit ran loudly day and night. There was no peace and quiet (let alone a good night's sleep) until our early departure. When I asked at the campsite, I was told that I should contact the youth fire department. On Monday 14.07.2025, all the youth fire departments from NRW arrived. They set up a tent city around us. Around 700 children celebrated their 50th anniversary day and night. The sanitary facilities, which had been clean until then, could not cope with the masses of people. I could go on and on, but you can imagine them for yourself The state camp of the NRW youth fire department will take place in Meschede am Hennesee in 2025. It will last from July 14 to 19, 2025 and celebrate an anniversary of the NRW Youth Fire Brigade. It will be a week full of action, community and experiences, with workshops, evening events and time for your own activities. Details about the state camp: Date: 14.07.2025 - 19.07.2025 Location: Meschede, Hennesee Number of participants: 1000 people Costs: 150€ per participant Anniversary: 50 years JF NRW Program: Workshops, evening events (campfire, talent shows, games evenings, discussion rounds), time for own events I don't blame the NRW youth fire department but the operators of CP Hennessee No reference to the event! No apology on their part! No efforts to make amends (remission of money, voucher, another pitch,...) This was by far the worst CP after more than 40 different ones. We will certainly not forget this annual vacation!

"recommendable - You can do it if you can and want to limit yourself a little. Then this type of recreation in a somewhat cramped space is completely sufficient and worthwhile.

"Hennesee - Wash house rather standard, with larger youth groups ( with us fire department tent camp ) higher cleaning frequency desired, leisure activities around the place good, bread service good, registration ( also after closing time ) unproblematic, restaurant / snack food in order

"Not good - The booked pitch (Premium - close to the entrance because we have 2 dogs) was not available - instead we were succinctly assigned another (standard - at the very back).... very patziger colleague at the reception.... toilets / showers old and dirty.... the machine for the toilet cassette was broken ... have not experienced such a place for a long time....

"School grade 4 - The sanitary facilities feel 50 years old. This should be done as soon as possible. The staff weren't very friendly either. And the internet connection is a disaster. That's not possible in this day and age. I can't understand why the operator doesn't change this. So many people have already complained about it. If there are 3 people at reception, you sometimes have to wait 20 minutes for your turn. So somehow the place urgently needs a new face.

In the ""Land of 1000 mountains"", located between the Higher Sauerland region between the natural Arnsberger Wald and Homert national parks, is the Hennesee campsite which is an ideal starting point for all holiday activities. Below the park there is …the 8 kilometer long Hennesee lake. The paved path along the banks of the river is perfect for walking and cycling. You can use this lake and its immediate surroundings for many watersports such as windsurfing, fishing (with a licence) and swimming. The campsite has a well-stocked store and a cafe-restaurant with a bistro. The heated indoor swimming pool with sauna, sauna garden and solarium is open all year round. On the campsite you can also rent bikes, games and even children's books. You can play table tennis there as well as tennis, volleyball, golf and mini-golf nearby. On site there is a children's playground as well as a children's playroom. In the main season we offer events like swimming olympics, team games, hikes by torchlight and much more. If you would like to take a trip, we recommend a cultural tour. In the cold months of the year you can also, in addition to winter hiking and cross-country skiing directly on the Hennesee lake, go skiing in the skiing regions of Winterberg, Willingen, Bödefeld or Schmallenbergwhich are just 15-25km away.
