"Beautiful place with small flaws - Overall a really nice place. The sanitary blocks are getting on in years. However, everything was intact and very clean. The heaters in the showers were unfortunately not warm enough, so it was too cold... Otherwise we would have been happy about a soap dispenser in the children's bathroom and a program for children during the autumn vacations. Unfortunately there was nothing at all... Otherwise, we will definitely come back again in the spring.

"Camping in the middle of the Sauerland - Nice campsite with a small swimming pool. Clean and well-kept washroom. Very nice staff. Ideal starting point for various excursions in the Sauerland.

"Nice short vacation in a confined space - Nice short vacation. We had two nights in the camping pod - 2 adults and two children. Breakfast was included and was perfectly fine. There was coffee, tea, bread rolls, packaged spreads (including vegan alternatives), butter, chocolate cream, drink packets......es was delicious and sufficient. You could visit the swimming pool at no extra cost. There is a pool, sauna and infrared cabin. As we were here during the fall vacations, the pool was not full and we were able to enjoy our stay. However, I can imagine that it gets uncomfortably crowded during the summer vacations. The infrared cabin can only be used with a €1 coin, which unfortunately I didn't have with me. :-( The campsite also has a beach by the lake - but it didn't look inviting to us. This may have been due to the algae in the water but also to the hazy autumn weather. The children spent a lot of time in the indoor play area and had fun there. However, there is a vending machine with (cheap) sweets. You have to insert €1 and you get....nothing good. The thing lights up, flashes and plays a melody every few seconds. Very intrusive and annoying. So parents definitely have to have a nerve-wracking discussion with their children - that's the opposite of relaxing on vacation. The restaurant was also okay. Friendly service, food was okay, prices too. However, the opening hours are a bit sparse. We arrived at the campsite on Monday around 2pm and EVERYTHING was closed. The store and reception take a lunch break until 3pm - the restaurant is completely closed on Mondays and the rest of the day the kitchen is only open from 5pm. As we had no cooking facilities in the pod, we had to wait until 5pm the next day for something warm to eat. No problem for adults, but the children were on the verge of despair. Next time we'd rather go with a tent (plus camping stove) :-)

"Mobile home - We were very happy with the mobile home we had. Everything was clean. Small signs of wear here and there, which were acceptable. The WLAN connection was not particularly good.

Profil

In the ""Land of 1000 mountains"", located between the Higher Sauerland region between the natural Arnsberger Wald and Homert national parks, is the Hennesee campsite which is an ideal starting point for all holiday activities. Below the park there is …the 8 kilometer long Hennesee lake. The paved path along the banks of the river is perfect for walking and cycling. You can use this lake and its immediate surroundings for many watersports such as windsurfing, fishing (with a licence) and swimming. The campsite has a well-stocked store and a cafe-restaurant with a bistro. The heated indoor swimming pool with sauna, sauna garden and solarium is open all year round. On the campsite you can also rent bikes, games and even children's books. You can play table tennis there as well as tennis, volleyball, golf and mini-golf nearby. On site there is a children's playground as well as a children's playroom. In the main season we offer events like swimming olympics, team games, hikes by torchlight and much more. If you would like to take a trip, we recommend a cultural tour. In the cold months of the year you can also, in addition to winter hiking and cross-country skiing directly on the Hennesee lake, go skiing in the skiing regions of Winterberg, Willingen, Bödefeld or Schmallenbergwhich are just 15-25km away.
