There are about 12 toilet cubicles in the area where I am. Again, NOTHING is at ground level. It seems to have been built to be as easy to clean as possible. Which is a sensible idea, at least in principle. Okay, it's 11:00, I want to go to the toilet. Door 1 ... no thanks... Door 2... OMG.... Door 3... I'm starting to break... And this is what it looks like behind every door. Out of necessity, I opted for the lesser of two evils. I'm sorry. I have no idea why this place is being hyped? Even at Gardersee I didn't have to pay this price for an overnight stay. The sanitary facilities are basically not accessible at all or only accessible by bike and not even clean in the middle of the day. The place was very clean in all parts, be it the toilets, showers, just the whole place.
The staff were, without exception, all very friendly and helpful.
First of all, the toilet facilities (there were two of them)... were very far away from most of the pitches (from our pitch about 800 steps to the left, only toilets, also to the right, where the showers were). There were only washed-out paths paved with grass pavers.
The internet said that there was free WiFi, a restaurant, a snack bar, a bakery and a supermarket, except for the WiFi.
The "restaurant" was only open sporadically, the snack bar was closed, the market/bakery was at the far back of the building. Free WLAN did not work.
A very steep ramp leads down to the toilets/showers for people with walking difficulties.
We needed well over 50 meters of cable to the power connection box that was assigned to us, although it would only have been about 15 meters to another one.
We also didn't get much of a rest at lunchtime, there was a lot of work going on at the Charlee's (Flex, chisel hammer, etc.)
We had to break off our short vacation after 4 days due to private reasons at home.
When we asked the reception about this, they regretted it, but no remaining money could be paid out, perhaps there would be the possibility of a voucher, but only valid until 31.10.2023.
However, as I won't be able to use it until the expiry date, I said I would give it away. We've been back home for a week and haven't heard from the "ladies/gentlemen" as promised.
I don't know this business behavior from any other campsite and I am very disappointed with the
very disappointed with the handling. I had imagined my birthday on Grav Island to be different!
