Well, handicapped like me, but not in a wheelchair.... Close your eyes and hope for the best. Of course, the barrier-free bathrooms are reserved for people in RS. Which wouldn't be a problem if the other facilities were only accessible via a steep ramp. So far so good... all done without injury. It's 11.00 am. There are about 12 toilet cubicles in the area where I am. Again, NOTHING is at ground level. It seems to have been built to be as easy to clean as possible. Which is a sensible idea, at least in principle. Okay, it's 11:00, I want to go to the toilet. Door 1 ... no thanks... Door 2... OMG.... Door 3... I'm starting to break... And this is what it looks like behind every door. Out of necessity, I opted for the lesser of two evils. I'm sorry. I have no idea why this place is being hyped? Even at Gardersee I didn't have to pay this price for an overnight stay. The sanitary facilities are basically not accessible at all or only accessible by bike and not even clean in the middle of the day. It's just pure relaxation when you're there. The shower blocks and toilets are always clean. The small houses you can rent are perfectly adequate and for the price just perfect as a little break, the people there are super nice. The range of food and drinks is sufficient and there is a delicatessen on the site. There is plenty of space for walking the dog and swimming is also possible. The staff were, without exception, all very friendly and helpful.
First of all, the toilet facilities (there were two of them)... were very far away from most of the pitches (from our pitch about 800 steps to the left, only toilets, also to the right, where the showers were). There were only washed-out paths paved with grass pavers.
The internet said that there was free WiFi, a restaurant, a snack bar, a bakery and a supermarket, except for the WiFi.
The "restaurant" was only open sporadically, the snack bar was closed, the market/bakery was at the far back of the building. Free WLAN did not work.
A very steep ramp leads down to the toilets/showers for people with walking difficulties.
We needed well over 50 meters of cable to the power connection box that was assigned to us, although it would only have been about 15 meters to another one.
We also didn't get much of a rest at lunchtime, there was a lot of work going on at the Charlee's (Flex, chisel hammer, etc.)
We had to break off our short vacation after 4 days due to private reasons at home.
When we asked the reception about this, they regretted it, but no remaining money could be paid out, perhaps there would be the possibility of a voucher, but only valid until 31.10.2023.
However, as I won't be able to use it until the expiry date, I said I would give it away. We've been back home for a week and haven't heard from the "ladies/gentlemen" as promised.
I don't know this business behavior from any other campsite and I am very disappointed with the
very disappointed with the handling. I had imagined my birthday on Grav Island to be different!

Unfortunately we fell completely into the water. A week of constant rain. We couldn't distract the children with WLAN as no connection was possible. The operators blamed it on the island location and lack of facilities. So it was a complete flop.
The playgrounds for children urgently need to be renovated.
Apparently hardly anyone cares about maintenance.

Here we get a piece of grass for the money, electricity from a communal box, no water, waste water... - not fenced in.
There is only 1 (very large) sanitary building in the basement of the "Deichhaus" (restaurant). The area is dark, in the corridor numerous Quengel stations from the carnival (grab arms etc). Several sanitary areas are closed, the area appears clean on the surface, but this is really only superficially the case. On closer inspection, many disgusting areas are noticeable, especially the drainage channels in the sanitary areas, the covers are already unsightly, inside really bad overall everything looks outdated and only superficially maintained.

A big negative point were the toilet containers on the short-term pitch. Not clean (train station toilets are cleaner), far too narrow seating cabins, no showers, no hot water, the taps don't all work. There is an urgent... need for action here. I can't imagine that the operator's lack of money is the reason for the shortcomings I have listed. The known number of camping guests per year results in enough turnover to avoid important circumstances. Please give me information about the future planning and the start of the renovation of the toilet containers, thank you, if this is followed up I will continue to stay with you as a guest and recommend you positively. There are no poop bags for the many dog owners, dust build-up in the morning at the disposal of chemical toilets and service water.
