- Laura M.August 2019Pozytywnelook at the photos on other sitesNegatywnef you REALLY want to go here, choose the mobile homes with water viewsNightmare holidays!!! (I'm sorry it's written in Italian...)When we were thinking about our next vacation, we carefully sifted through the proposals of the many camping-villages in the Arcachon Basin area and opted for the camping club "Les Viviers," which, with the 4 stars indicated on the website, offered many types of housing units in addition to the usual... services, with the possibility of choosing their location. We booked and paid, by bank transfer, a deposit on January 14, 2019 and the balance on May 27 for a total amount of 2473.90 Euro, for two adults and a 16-year-old boy. -- Finally, after a year of intense work and after facing a 10-hour, 1022-kilometer journey, we arrived at Les Viviers campsite in Lege-Cap-Ferret (French Gironde). The first step involves registering at the reception, which is a very crowded room of adults and children, with a couple of paddle fans on the ceiling. Despite being tired, we wait patiently for our turn and the clerk who greets us is polite but of Spanish origin and not fluent in French, despite which we complete the formalities by paying an additional security deposit of 370 euros. Once the paperwork is finished, we are shown the person who will guide us to the Mobil-home MC07 assigned to us, and with whom we will check the state of the unit and the correctness of what is on the inventory: this is done only when the young lady has finished talking to a colleague. We arrive at the unit and as soon as we enter, we smell dogs and point this out to the young lady who immediately becomes impatient to leave and urges us to check the inventory telling us that if we find any inconsistency we should report it at the end of the stay. To our question as to why despite being a 4-person house, there are only 2 folding chairs in the kitchen, she replies that you can use the plastic ones that are outside anyway and leaves. We are puzzled by the exterior appearance because there are no guards between the base of the Mobil-home and the ground so that sewage pipes, other equipment and some dirt can be seen. The steps leading up to the entrance are a bit wobbly and the foot board is narrow, the veranda has a worn floor and two plastic panels are dangling, and there are rather substantial cobwebs in the corners. As for the outdoor furnishings, we see that the chairs and sun loungers are clearly ruined, cracked and blackened, a fact perhaps due to weather or neglect; the small table that accompanies them is also in the same state, to the point that we decide to bring it inside as a tabletop and use the indoor one instead. The plastic clothesline is old and without clothespins. As soon as we enter the unit, we take a look around and what is evident are the stained and dusty mattresses, also in the master bedroom one of the shelves used as bedside tables is crooked and one is missing, in the small bedroom the bedside table has the fòrm torn outward, the bathroom shelf is crooked while under the mirror and next to the mixer there are screws sticking out. At this point we decide to take a closer look and in the kitchenette we see that in some places the baseboard is loose, the refrigerator door has rust, the inside is dirty and there is a broken serving tray, the under-pan is rusted, the stove's fire guard is stained and around the stove there is a rim of dirt, the silicone cutting board is worn and has a sinking in the center, in addition all the utensils and dishes in the kitchen supply are dirty and greasy so we decide to wash them but as we take them out of the cabinets, we find that all the shelves and doors are also coated with a layer of dirt and we need to clean those as well; to be on the safe side, we take a look at the wobbly refrigerator and moving it we discover moldy, stinky cheese crusts. Having finished this job, we notice that we have dropped a few drops of water while washing the dishes, but when we dry them we discover that we have to wash the floor as well, and while we are at it, we take a look under the beds where we find skeins of dirt, hair and animal hair and one of the shelves used as a nightstand and decide to clean these floors as well with the broom provided. At the end of the cleaning, the little house has lost the smell it had and we can make the beds but, on opening the sheets we rented (cost: 30 Euro), we find that they have been badly washed and contain (animal?) hair and hair, while the blankets are full of dog hair and need to be at least whisked, so we open the sheets and blankets and whisk them for a long time so as not to sleep in other people's filth. We prepare, then, to set up our things. It is too bad that the two tiny closets are for very short clothes because there is barely 40 cm. between the clothes stick and the shelf below, and our clothes are normal size, so we unhook a shelf in order to have more space. After such a long journey and work done, overwrought with fatigue, we go to sleep. -- The next morning we attempt to put some items in the safe but although we carefully follow the written instructions and despite numerous attempts we cannot get it to work. We decide to go to the front desk to point out everything that is wrong. The displeased clerk takes note of everything, asks us to send her photographs, and assures us that she will have a maintenance person come in to fix the shelves and a person to explain the operation of the safe. The shelves were repaired in a short time, fixing them to the walls with screws. After some reminders, a lady arrived to fix the problem with the safe but, after numerous attempts to interpret explanations, she left with nothing. The second person who intervened the next day, evidently more practical, after numerous tests and trials, found that the safe needed to be replaced and asked whether we were interested in using it or could do without it. Having replied that we were interested in using it, he left saying that he would see to it and that was done with a replacement. At the end of all these inconveniences, the kind employee to whom we approached from the beginning offered us as compensation the free use (against a deposit of 250 Euros) of a bicycle for six days. Among the surprises we found in this Camping-Club, it should not be forgotten that, despite what we saw on the site: * plan d'eau intérieur et sa plage avec access direct au Bassin d'Arcachon, et especialement equipé pour le bonheur de tous: structure aquatiques gonflables, canoes... - the inflatable aquatic structure, which looked interesting and a lot of fun from the photographs, was removed because it was "dangerous"-the beach was a small space under the pine trees, in the middle of the pine needles * complexe aquatique de plein air de 620 m2 avec toboggan - in reality the space is small and crowded and the 2 toboggans small and shabby * Wifi haut debit - the connection worked jerky and in our bungalow you had to find the right position to connect A few days later my wife was sitting on the veranda, in one of the garden chairs provided, when the chair gave way and she fell: fortunately, although she was close to the steps, she managed not to fall, thus avoiding a worse fall. Another negative point: recycling collection is not even considered. The only sorting is done between glass and everything else, so much for ecology and the environment. -- At the end of this vacation, we returned home disappointed and bitter, feeling that we had been "cheated" and determined to make our experience known to those who would like to "try" this facility.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Heribert W.September 2017PozytywneLevel and easily navigable course. Special flair due to the canals.NegatywneInsufficient number of toilets. Noisy street in the front area.CP mainly with rental accommodation. Inadequate price-performance ratio.Channels divide the space and break it up. Pitches are level and separated by hedges. Insufficient number of toilets, so that you often have to queue or walk further. Insufficient cleanliness of the toilets (no toilet lid, no toilet seat, no paper, no soap). Noisy country road in the front area. We will not visit the site again.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Paul G.September 2015Pozytywnebeautiful pool great view if you stand with the tent directly at the poolNegatywneVery poor sanitary facilities, very large, very densely built-up, long distancesHuge bungalow park with full facilitiesWe (2 adults, 3 children 0-4 years) were guests with a tent for 6 nights at the beginning of September. We had a very nice but tight pitch right by the pool. Great view of the water - at high tide. There is a large pool area with a heated pool. The rest of the entertainment infrastructure was already... closed (low season). Overall, it is a very large, densely built-up bungalow park, which is certainly very crowded and noisy in high season. It is advisable to have a bicycle with you (it took us 15 minutes to walk to reception, 15 minutes to the pool --> unsuitable for small children, lots of traffic). The sanitary facilities are old, unkempt and not cleaned daily, no toilet paper.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Camper C.August 2015PozytywneIts location. The Atlantic Ocean and its beautiful beaches and waves.NegatywneThe noise of the highway. The general condition of the campsite.Lives only from its locationThe surroundings and the Atlantic Ocean are great. The campsite has seen its best days. Some things urgently need to be refurbished and renovated. The location on the highway is an absolute disaster. Camping on the "highway". Campers who are not at least in the middle of the campsite are really lost at night.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Thomas R.August 2012Beautifully situated site with mainly permanent camping bungalows. Very good entertainment program. The sanitary facilities do not meet the standard of four stars. Some of the pitches are right on the water.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
