The grounds and staff—no matter where—were always friendly and helpful. Two points of criticism: perhaps create more paths so that no one has to walk between the campsites. And second, get the local government to clean the beach of algae and seaweed. Dead animals are regularly... found there. It smells bad and is unhealthy. The swimming area was marked off—which is great—but kids can’t play at the water’s edge without worry. These are just minor complaints, and I’m thinking of other guests here. The on-site restaurant is great and highly recommended. The kids’ activities are top-notch! The only thing is that the 2-day kitesurfing course is useless to me because you don’t actually get on the board—it’s more like a hang gliding course... for a lot of money. Be sure to pack mosquito repellent—otherwise you’ll get eaten alive—but of course the campground can’t do anything about that.

The restroom facilities are also modern, clean, and highly recommended. The kiosk, the fisherman, and the restaurant round out the offerings nicely.
However, anyone looking primarily for peace and... relaxation in the summer should be aware that the campground is geared more toward families with children, as well as surfers and SUP enthusiasts. Our impression was that the campground rules—especially regarding quiet hours—were not consistently monitored or enforced, despite complaints. As a result, it sometimes stayed noisy in the evenings longer than we would have liked.
We were also disappointed to find that, in our view, the site map no longer reflects the current situation. An area designated as a quiet green space is actually used as a soccer field, which led to significantly more noise than expected, especially in that area.
The beach section is quite narrow and, personally, didn’t invite us to linger for long. We also found the dishwashing area less than ideal: There are additional fees for washing dishes, and the space is quite cramped.
Overall, there are certainly some positives. However, the campground didn’t quite meet our personal expectations for a quiet camping vacation. The site is well-kept, family-friendly and is located in beautiful surroundings right on the Salzhaff. Especially for families with children, there is a lot to discover and plenty... of space to play and run around. Our daughter felt at home from the very first moment.
We are always impressed by the relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout the campsite. The team is helpful and makes you feel welcome as a guest. The sanitary facilities were also clean and well-maintained at all times.
The proximity to the water, the wonderful sunsets and the many possibilities for excursions in the surrounding area make every stay something special.
For us, it was a repeat visit - and certainly not the last. We always like to come back and can recommend the campsite on the Salzhaff to families, couples and all camping enthusiasts without reservation.
