Small, quiet campsite. Very informal, ideal for children. The site offers a small entertainment program. The reception was very friendly and accommodating.

The pitches are beautifully integrated into the pine forest - somewhat interlocked or a little terraced - at first glance a bit of a jumble, but... that also has a certain charm. We were traveling with the Wowa (7.20m long). In terms of size and terracing, there aren't too many pitches and maneuvering isn't necessarily easy. The receptionists therefore asked if they could help us maneuver the caravan. Very accommodating.

The sanitary facilities are simple but clean. They are cleaned several times a day. The mixed use (male/female) of the facilities and the open buildings lend a touch of camp atmosphere. There is a small freezer in each building for free general use.

There's a bike rental service on the site (the Ile d'Òleron is great for exploring by bike). Unfortunately, there are only a few bikes available for hire and in our time they were always fully booked. However, there are several rental shops in the town. There are actually still some available there.

There is also a small bar on the campsite that offers simple food (pizza) and drinks. The quality is ok. However, the prices are not exactly family-friendly. Local producers (wine, oysters etc.) also come to the square from time to time in the evening and offer a small market. A great idea in itself, but unfortunately the prices here also give the impression that the cow is being milked properly.

It's a shame that the beach is a few meters away, so you're always dependent on a bike or car.

Positive ting
Heavy rain was forecast. As we were only traveling with a tent, we asked for an upgrade. The receptionist was immediately on the spot (even when the reception was not yet open) and gave us an upgrade immediately! The sanitary facilities were cleaned regularly and the site was very close to nature. All the staff at Huttopia were always attentive and friendly towards the guests!

This is a perfect campsite for those who like a bit of peace and quiet and still only want to walk 20 minutes to the nearest beach or the city center

A site mainly used by campers. Open sanitary facilities. Temperature control inadequate. A playground for children up to about 10 years old. A vending cart for basic supplies (a kind of gypsy cart) selling bread and pizzaria, chips, beer... everything quite simple but comfortable at table-bench combinations.... Every second evening there is a program (film, live music until 11pm.) Otherwise there are boultouniere and barbecues on the beach... Quite hilly pitches, suboptimal for large caravans over 5m and motorhomes. More of a nature campsite. Water taps only at the fire hoses and at the sanitary buildings. There is plenty of shade under the pine trees, the ground is quite sandy but firm, but we really liked the concept of the Indigo Group. Just as much interference from the site staff as necessary! Lots of French guests, then English and Dutch. At most 5% Germans. The price/performance ratio is very good for Oleron. The pool has two pools, 1.2m and 1.5m deep, unfortunately no paddling pool.
