"Location and potential but lacks maintenance and modernization - Close to beaches, the Ferragudo area is one of the nicest in the Algarve. The reception and facilities in general need to be modernized, you still need a camper's license even for members to pitch a tent and the entry process can take a long time if there are a lot of people. Dogs are only allowed in the kennels and they don't stop barking at night. The plots are irregular in size and the vegetation is not properly tended and cleared. We've had to clear the land and remove garbage (metals, a kind of glass wool). The energy for the plots is not included and at the entrance you have to carry and assemble a huge extension cord. The changing rooms are all wet in the morning, including the toilets; the cleaning isn't thorough, but the rough materials on the floor don't help either. They could have had lids/seats on the toilets. The layout of the park is pleasant (in levels) and the pitches are shaded, but the management should ensure that each camper only occupies the pitch they have paid for. There are many people who have large tents and put their tent on one pitch and their car or swing hammock occupies the neighboring pitch that they haven't paid for (the pitches are relatively small). As there is dry, uncleared vegetation, I've seen people barbecuing very close to the fuel. The swimming pool is good, but you pay for it separately and it closes at lunchtime. This park is full of weeds outside of July and August/September. We went in June too. Overall it's a superb location and an attractive price but everything else should be improved.
