hot water, correct sanitary facilities, friendly tourist office and calm reign on the campsite, easy access, proximity to the Val Thorens ski area and the assurance of snow. When the gondola arrives, everything is grandiose: you're in the high mountains.

the campsite is a bit far from the gondola, and during the school holidays there's only one shuttle bus at 9:05 a.m., which can pick you up in front of the campsite after informing the tourist office. otherwise, you have to walk for 15 minutes with your ski boots on and your skis on your shoulder. it's hard. very few shops in Orelle: a bar and a ski rental shop, but no bakery or butcher.

Quiet, everything is there, everything that is produced locally is available in the village, without annoying through traffic

For those who like it simple, there are no disadvantages
Simple, unpretentious place, pleasant, well run...
Stay in mid-June: 3 permanent campers, 14 free standing places with electricity. Registration at the foot of the valley at the tourist office (Office du tourisme d'Orelle), friendly welcome. Not a star hotel but everything is there and clean. Insider tip for realistic campers who don't expect a super campsite but like it clean and tidy.

Quiet location. Arrival possible at any time. Easy to reach from the highway. Great sanitary facilities.
Small, very pleasant place - ideal for stopovers
We stayed in June 2014 and September 2015 for one night each on the site, which is probably open all year round. It is located directly below the Mairie on a terraced area. From time to time you can hear a train in the valley heading towards the Fréjus tunnel, otherwise the site is very quiet. The sanitary... facilities are modern and clean. Each of the 20 or so pitches has an electricity connection and (as far as I could see) also a connection for waste water. For bad or cold weather, there is a heated wooden hut with a cooking area for general use. There is no barrier or groundsman on site. If you arrive in the evening or outside the opening hours of the tourist office, you will have to make do without electricity for the time being. Pitch fees per adult per night in summer € 2 (two!) + € 0.2 (20 cents) visitor's tax. Pets are free of charge. We simply left the money for our overnight stays in an envelope in the mailbox of the tourist office on departure. We received an email confirming that the money had been received and that they were very pleased about our visit.
