Wrongly positioned in the app. It's not in the village of Uthausen but by itself in a nearby forest, by the lake with the same name as the campsite.

Signpost forest in the pine forest
You reach the "Königsee" campsite on the edge of the Düben Heath via poor to very poor roads and the first thing you notice are the many no-entry and no-entry signs.
Don't panic: most of them are just a waste of time; not even the permanent campers adhere to banalities such as midday rest or barrier... times.
Apart from that, you pitch your tent on relatively flat, soft forest ground. You can borrow rakes etc. for the pine cones from the wall of the registration building. Good!
The relatively large sanitary building opposite is actually hard to miss. It makes you wonder why the cleaning team can't find it for days on end. Not at all!
The pitches are quite cheap, but electricity is a bit expensive and showers are really expensive.
Another positive thing to mention is the waste separation, all types are available and sufficiently large.
All in all, you can spend your vacation here if you are prepared to make a few compromises.
But you can see them in the wallet after your vacation.
The Bergwitzsee just around the corner costs considerably more.

Day ticket for a short tour of the campsite
We were passing through and had planned a short tour of the campsite for our next vacation. Arrived there at 6 p.m., reported to reception and expressed our wish. The answer was that this is private property and we would have to pay a day ticket of 2 x 1 euro. We refused on principle and unfortunately... drove this detour for nothing else. In 50 years of camping experience, I have never come across anything like this, where a fee is charged for a short visit.

Peace and seclusion. In the middle of the forest with direct access to the lake. No plots.

Peace and nature
I'll start by briefly describing what we want. We would like pitches that are in their natural state and don't have all the fancy stuff. A clean, functioning toilet and shower is sufficient.

Now to the pitch. It's in the middle of the forest, quite large and dominated by permanent campers. Nevertheless,... there is enough space for caravans and the like. There are no pitches. The friendly receptionist shows you several options and helps you to maneuver. The ground is a sandy forest floor. Suitable fastenings are an advantage. There is also a small meadow as a pitch. I have not seen any gray water disposal for motorhomes.
The Königsee belongs to the site. A small pond with good water quality and bathing area. Very suitable for children. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the water here, but there is the Langen See, about 30 minutes' walk away.
The sanitary facilities, of which there are two, are rustic and functional, but could be a little cleaner. The first glance is a bit frightening, but turns out to be ok. Shower costs 2€, well, that's just the way it is. Tip: I always showered together with my wife.
Twice a week, there is a bakery with a good selection.
This heavenly tranquillity is characteristic of the campsite.
We really like it here and if you can cope with a little rustic GDR standard, you will find relaxation here.
We will definitely be back again.

Camping ground we in DDR
I have never experienced a campsite like this. Time has stood still (GDR) no kiosk e.g. things for daily needs. The lake is a better fishing pond. Everything is a bit premitive this is a place just to pass through nothing more.

Quiet and natural in the middle of the forest
Quiet and natural place in the middle of the forest. Really nice starting point for hiking and cycling. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired, everything from GDR times and there wasn't even light in the toilets during the day. Shower tokens were scarce and the showers could... not be turned off, e.g. for soaping up, and the temperature could not be regulated. Some showers didn't even have a curtain. The playground was also quite outdated.

Rest and relax
We stayed at the site with dogs over the weekend. The operator is very nice and showed us a pitch that was just right for our needs. It's really great as a starting point for hikes with dogs. However, there is a lot of game (a paradise for non-hunting dogs). After a long hike, you can relax in peace and enjoy nature. The restaurant, not far away, offers delicious food. We would love to come back.

An oasis in the Düben Heath
It was really amazing how quickly you can shake off the stress of everyday life and the pressure of work and switch to enjoyment mode and let your mind wander. An oasis that you wouldn't expect 5km away. We rented a bungalow and were completely satisfied. Friendly staff.

Camping site Königsee
Were permanent campers on the site from 2012 to 2014. It is very nice there Would recommend the place to anyone, but due to the move the place was too far away for us and that's why we gave it up.

Idyllically situated in the middle of the forest (Dübener Heide) between several lakes. The site is not parceled out and is completely natural. Free choice of pitches. Very quiet location. Good starting point for (bike) hikes, mushroom picking etc. Sanitary facilities in need of renovation. Very nice staff. Nice restaurant with outdoor seating and good offer.
