I arrived unannounced with my bike and tent and was given a super spacious, quiet pitch. The entire campsite is very well-kept, beautifully situated and really idyllic. It's also right on the cycle path to the Rhine delta. If it didn't exist, it would... have to be invented. Shopping facilities and the beautiful Hundertwasser market hall are not far away. We arrived on Wednesday evening and the sanitary facilities were in a questionable state. It was only cleaned on Friday. Small sanitary building with 2 showers and toilets. Super clean and well-kept pitches. Even at the end of the summer season the grass is still growing here. Little on offer in the site's own kiosk, but the most important things are there. Restaurant with moderate prices.

The "Campingplatz Idyll" is located directly on the Rhine cycle path and is characterized by permanent campers. The reception was very friendly and I immediately felt welcome. There is a beautiful and inviting meadow for tents right next to the garden restaurant.... The sanitary block was clean during my visit and the hot showers are included in the price. As the range of attractive restaurants in Altenrhein is rather underdeveloped, you are forced to eat from the small menu at the kiosk. But it tasted okay! The very large shower cubicles deserve a special mention, especially showering like at home, without having to constantly press the button for water to come back (as at most other campsites). Not far from an airfield,... but we found it more of an attraction than a disturbance. Great cycling on Lake Constance and the surrounding area. Small kiosk store with a modest range, but the most important things are available. Nice starting point for bike tours and walks. Unfortunately, the site is bisected by a road that is... partly used by cars. Gray water can be emptied outside the site. Chemical toilet and fresh water on the pitch. A small swimming pool is available, emphasis on small. Highly recommended site for short stays with children.
