Review of the stay (Friday-Sunday, September 2025)
Our stay at this campsite was unfortunately an extremely negative experience.

Even the booking was inflexible, as stays of five nights or more are only possible. This makes it difficult for a short trip, but that was still acceptable at first.

On arrival, however, the impression worsened considerably:... after ringing the bell at reception, we waited around ten minutes while the operator sat a few meters away in a deckchair and made no effort to greet us or invite us in. This immediately created the feeling that guests were not welcome here.

There were further unfriendly comments when we parked, and the power supply was also only established after a significant delay. We were then reprimanded for a small carpet (approx. 100 × 50 cm) in front of the door, which would allegedly damage the lawn - although this area was already marked by weeds and ruts and tents, awnings and vehicles are common there.

The most serious incident occurred on Saturday evening when my wife and seven-year-old son spontaneously wanted to spend the night with us. Although this had already been announced on arrival and the two of them had been duly registered at reception, they were brusquely turned away and asked to leave the site immediately. Even my four-year-old son and my wife were not allowed to go to the toilet - we found this completely inappropriate.

Our entire family was then banned from the site, including the nights we had already booked and confirmed. The electricity was switched off immediately and we were told to leave the site within 30 minutes under threat of police action. The police were actually called by telephone. In the course of the dispute, mutual accusations and reports were made - an absolute low point of our stay.

Beware of scams!
The "park-like site" is a plain meadow with a few trees.
The site is densely packed with mobile homes and there is no separate camping area.
The owner's tone towards me (a hiking canoeist) was grumpy and disdainful.
Apart from that, everything here is geared towards maximizing profits. In addition to... the already steep prices, there are various extra costs such as showers and hot water for washing up. As I had arrived on a special day ("Rhine in Flames"), I was asked to pay a quickly invented "flat rate" of almost €50 per night for my one-man tent. When I asked her whether she thought this was reasonable, she replied with a snappy "The others pay that too". I then drove on.
If you don't want to be ripped off and have your mood spoiled, you should avoid this place at all costs!

Located on the Rhine. Beautiful meadow under trees.

Very loud (but this is normal in the Rhine Valley). Old sanitary facilities. V/E cumbersome. Very expensive. Electricity 1.20€ kw/h.

The site is well located. Directly on the Rhine. Beautiful meadow to stand on. Partly under trees. Also very noisy due to the train/ships and roads. Only a few kilometers to the Loreley.
Operator is nice. The price is too high for what is on offer. Electricity far too expensive.

Once and never again
The location and the good lawn speak for the place - but that was it.
The restaurant/reception and terrace were completely littered. The sanitary facilities were very basic and dated. In the corridor of the sanitary building, directly in front of the women's area, a man was sleeping on a lounger. None... of us wanted to go there alone at night.
The place is totally overpriced. This applies to the basic fee and the electricity costs. You even had to pay for hot water when washing dishes.
For one night and if you are self-sufficient, the place may still work. If you want more, you should drive on.
