Camping site Altfunnixsiel
We stayed at the campsite for a week.
We were expected by the owners Bianca and Dirk and the paperwork was already prepared. We had a nice chat and Dirk took us to our pitch and supplied us with electricity. They always have an open ear and are very friendly. They really do a good job. The site is very... quiet with lots of permanent campers, who are all very friendly. Great care is taken to keep everything in good condition. The site is very clean, as are the sanitary facilities (where everything is in stock, toilet paper and hand wipes) and the dishwashing and laundry room. Bianca and Dirk check regularly. In the kiosk, you are spoiled with fresh bread rolls (which you can order in advance), lunch, cakes, jams etc. (all home-made). Nicole and Helmut always greet you in a friendly manner and are open to everything. If you feel like it, you can now also play the lottery with them. On the Thursday, they offered guests a game of Bosseln. The campers all came together and everyone had a nice chat. Nicole and Helmut provided us with drinks and barbecue and Bianca and Dirk joined the campers. It was a lovely evening. We will definitely be back.

Greetings, Susanne and Arnd

Positiivsed
The quiet location, friendliness and flexibility of the operators, short distances to the sanitary facilities and dishwashing/washing room, sociability of the permanent campers, super sanitary facilities, best supply by a perfect kiosk; or village store with fresh bread rolls, the most delicious food, homemade cakes, jams etc., restaurant within walking distance, proximity to the North Sea.
Negatiivsed
Pitch on the corner with stony ground
Small cozy campsite
We liked the place very much, absolutely quiet and beautifully situated on the Harle. Highlights were the new and clean sanitary facilities, the village store with the best supply of fresh bread rolls, delicious freshly prepared meals and cakes from the very friendly operator couple. Even shortly before... closing time, everything was made possible in terms of supply. The tenant couple were also friendly and helpful. We liked the fact that we could book spontaneously and easily. Very dog-friendly. We also had nice contacts with the permanent campers who occupy most of the pitches here. All in all, our stay was too short, but we would love to come back!

Positiivsed
Situated directly on the Harle, mainly permanent campers. Only a few pitches for tourists. All facilities in very good condition. The site has a small restaurant/shopping facility. Here you can buy small items, enjoy coffee and cake, have breakfast or a snack. Operators and tenants are very friendly and courteous, have an open ear for every problem, are very committed to providing visitors with a pleasant vacation.
Negatiivsed
The pitches directly on the Harle are slightly sloping towards the river. I found this unpleasant when sleeping. Only some of the tourist pitches have electricity. However, the operators provide extension cables, for example.
Small, quiet place away from the hustle and bustle
If you want to spend a quiet vacation without the hustle and bustle and the entertainment right on the coast, this is the place for you. The idyllic location on the Harle, a little way from the sea, invites you to explore East Frisia beyond the coast. I would particularly recommend the sculpture garden in Funnix.

Great campsite on the North Sea
I have been a permanent camper at this great campsite since last year. In the fall there was a change of tenant , which has become very positive . Very nice operator couple who are always there with help and bike for all campers, clean showers and toilets. The place is getting nicer and nicer. Then the... proximity to the North Sea, easy to reach by bike. The best thing is that we got great kiosk / cafe operators since this year. Fresh bread rolls, homemade cakes, delicious food. Now even great ice cream scoops of different varieties with cream, sprinkles or sauces. Also for the daily needs everything is available. Eggs, potatoes, honey from the region. Many tourist campers come often and get along really well with us permanent campers.

A beautiful and quiet place near the coast. We could easily reach the coastal towns of Bensersiel, Neuharlingersiel, etc. by bike on quiet cycle paths.

Cleanliness Friendly Quiet location Relaxed and nice atmosphere between permanent campers and tourists
Negatiivsed
Actually none, if anything the sanitary facilities could be overhauled. But that didn't bother us
Small and cozy
I can only agree with my predecessors. We arrived and immediately felt at home. The operator is very nice and helpful, just like the operator of the small village shop. However, the sanitary facilities have the flair of a 70s school changing room. You had to bring your own toilet paper. That didn't bother... us. Everything was super clean and free of charge, which is the main thing for us. Our dog didn't have to pay either. The price-performance ratio was good. There is a restaurant nearby where you can eat well and the coast is about 4-5 km away. For us there was nothing to complain about and we will definitely be back.

Quiet and very friendly
Small quiet place with mostly permanent campers, but they are very sociable (there are exceptions everywhere). The pitches are large enough and some are next to the sanitary facilities (the noise was not a problem). The sanitary facilities are very clean (low season) but not up to date. For catering... there is a well-stocked kiosk with a very nice and attentive lady there is breakfast and rolls to order . There are numerous restaurants in the area, which can also be reached by bike. To the coast about 4 km on the bike path. Very nice helpful operator.

Manageable space clean sanitary facilities sufficiently large pitches overall very nice permanent campers dogs free of charge reasonable prices
Negatiivsed
a handful of permanent campers
One rotten apple spoils the whole basket
Actually, it would be enough for me to write: I have nothing to add to the positive reviews of the other campers so far. If, yes, if there weren't a few of the generally very nice and helpful permanent campers who think they have to spend hours at the kiosk exchanging banalities at the top of their voices.... One tries to drown out the other. Consideration is apparently a foreign word for these people. We had the misfortune of getting a very nice pitch right next to the sanitary facilities. This meant that we were exposed to this noise every day and so we decided to leave earlier. It was actually the kind of pitch we always look for. Not too big, beautifully situated, clean sanitary facilities, a friendly, committed owner, etc. If, yes if ...

First vacation in East Frisia
I stayed at this site for 3 weeks at the end of June and felt very comfortable. The sanitary facilities and the campsite were always very clean and well maintained. The friendliness and helpfulness of the operator and the nice kiosk operator are exemplary, not to mention the friendly permanent campers. The site is very suitable for excursions to the islands and for touring the northern part of East Frisia.
