WHEEMS CAMPSITE AND ECO CABINS offers camping for up to 20 pitches for tents and camper-vans. For those travelling light or requiring more substantial dwellings, there are cosy, equipped, solid wooden bothies. Wheems Campsite overlooks cliffs and sandy beaches to … the south within 5 minutes walk. THE CAMPSITE is is in an elevated field with stone dykes, looking south and east towards the sea; beaches and cliffs can be reached on foot in 5 minutes and by car in 2 minutes. There is a yurt providing additional common space and the camping fields have now been sculpted into level terraces and planted with shrubs. There are hot showers, toilets and utilities including washing machine and drying line. We also now have an equipped covered kitchen area for all guests. WHEEMS ORGANIC FARM is an ecological and organic 6 hectare horticulture and animal smallholding, producing organic food for a local market. Wheems farm buildings are 200 years old and have been renovated using local, traditional and sustainable materials. Wheems farmland has been sensitively landscaped with areas set aside for conservation, areas carved out with stone dyke walling, and areas of tree planting.

For information and booking visit Orkney Service Directory . Travelling to Wheems Once on Orkney Mainland FROM ST MARGARETS HOPE, come up the hill and turn right onto the A961, towards Burwick. Turn immediately left at the 1st World War memorial, marked Eastside. Travel along for 1 1/2 miles, passing old church hall on left. Reach cross roads, keep going straight heading towards the sea. After arriving from John O'Groats to BURWICK, South Ronaldsay as a foot passenger, come along the A961 towards Kirkwall.
