Description

Profile
Trewan is a unique family-run campsite in mid Cornwall, England between Newquay and Padstow. The campsite is 6 kilometres from the nearest sandy beach and the North Cornwall coast. Trewan Hall Camping Site has 14 hectares of woods and grounds … surrounding the old stone mansion of Trewan Hall. We are 8 kilometres east of Newquay and a short walk from the Cornish town of St. Columb Major. The camping grounds and amenities are perfectly integrated into the estate and are designed to blend into their surroundings rather then detract from them. There is a choice of two fields. One smaller family orientated field close to the shop, barns and play park plus a larger field with plenty of space with an ‘away from it all’ atmosphere. Electrical hook ups are on the larger field. Pitches are not allocated, giving you, the guest, the choice you wish. We are in an advantageous position in that we have far more space then available pitches. This means more room, more choice and the view or convenience you want. We also control the maximum numbers of campers carefully so as not to over-stretch facilities. A 25 metre heated swimming pool is open during high season. It is covered by an air dome which can be taken down in a period of hot weather. It is also fully supervised and generally open between 10am and 6pm. Entertainment is provided during school holidays in the Long Barn. This can vary from local rock/brass bands to magic shows, all highly professional and free of charge. There is a large field available for ball games in front of the Hall, and barns for table tennis. A barn is set aside for teenagers and adults with a pool table. Cycling is not permitted on site. A fully stocked shop is open nearly 14 hours a day in high season, shorter hours in low season. Groceries, camping equipment, souvenirs, toys and games are amongst the range sold. An especial attraction is the fresh bread and pasties from a local bakery. Trewan estate is surrounded by woodlands, one of which is particularly designated for dog walking. Dogs are welcome on site. The local town of St Columb Major has a selection of pubs and shops a mile from the site, within walking distance and the nearest beach is only 6 kilometres away. Other beaches are easily accessible by car. Local attractions include The Eden Project, the Camel Trail and Crealy Adventure Park, many others are within reach by car as we are situated in the middle of the county. We warmly welcome families and couples to share the quiet atmosphere of Trewan in the low season and the excited holiday feeling during the busier high season.
