"Mini camping is an understatement - Admittedly: Den Hoek is not easy to find. Despite the latest set of maps, my sat nav turned me off after the A1 in front of an industrial estate. So I took the first (and only) road that led on and got there. It's much easier from the outlying towns. Once there, it turned out to be a bit tricky to find someone (after 6 p.m.). Den Hoek is a farm/boerderij with an adjoining "mini-camping site". The only residential building (one of many buildings with a manual doorbell) is also the reception. Very, very nice. The local guard dog - at least in my case - didn't make a sound and just looked friendly. The campsite can be reached past the cowshed (milking at 7:00 and 18:00 - if you want to watch) via a parking lot, which doesn't seem so great. But the site is absolutely great. Flat meadows. A total of four parking areas (very flat grass areas). If you can't find anyone, you can stand there first and then search. Power connections everywhere (whether 6 or more amps), multiple water connections available at the pitches. Large communal wash house, hot water for washing up, showers included. Overnight costs for 2 people, camper van (T3), electricity = €18 (!). "Conveniently located" not far from the A1 from Germany to The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam ... Very friendly people (although German/English was tricky in our case but worked). The pitches are relatively large (relatively because we were lucky and there was little traffic, so we had plenty of space between us and our neighbors (see pictures)). The whole place looks very well-kept, which you wouldn't expect from the driveway (we had expected something very simple). The sanitary facilities: communal wash house (separate D and H), washing-up area (hot water at each sink included), disabled WC and washroom, small "lounge" (good for tent people) with fridges and "Bibkliothek" (Dutch only :-)), washing machine/dryer (€2.50), chemical toilet disposal. No camper van disposal area. 5 stars would also be ok from our point of view, but you need "air". In addition, with few guests, the sanitary area is usually very clean. Nice add-on: free WLAN on the pitch. Great quality on the pitches near the wash house. An absolute MUST: The farm store / Boerderij. Farm-fresh dairy products of all kinds (butter, herb butter, milk, vla and much more). Once you've eaten the vla, you won't buy any more in the supermarket ... The five-star rating is therefore also for the farm store, not in general! Please note.
