"Camping in the Wadden Sea - The space is small and manageable. Appropriate for the small island. The crossing to the island is only possible at low tide via a causeway that is sometimes still partially covered with seawater. However, it is possible to remove the salt water from the vehicle on the site. The site is run by the merchant who has his store opposite the entrance. You can also get enough crowns for the shower machine there. You can also get bread rolls and everything else you could possibly need there. The grass on the pitch is good to very good almost everywhere. We will definitely be stopping by there again.

"Wadden island with a unique location - When approaching, the tidal calendar must be taken into account: it is only possible two hours before and after low tide. But then you can easily drive at 25km/h on the gravel road (also suitable for caravans). The island is 'manageable': 10km all around - cycling / walking. At low tide, the tractor buses (approx. 5 buses with approx. 50 excursionists each) come from the mainland: then the small central village is filled with churches and stores. But otherwise, even at the end of July, everything is quiet and relaxed. The most beautiful are the sunsets against the "biggest sky in the world" from the (overgrown) dunes as the water rises. At low tide: miles of sand flats to walk on. Swimming is possible approx. 1 1/2 hours before/after high tide: max. water depth 75cm, but when the tide is high in the afternoon: approx. 28 degrees. Excursions: By tractor bus to the Robbensandbank, Ribe (great medieval old town with cathedral) The sanitary facilities are clearly in need of renovation. Although they are cleaned daily, they are poorly ventilated. Otherwise everything is there: Water/WC sink, washing area, fresh bread rolls every day, small museums, restaurants.

Profile

MandøCamping ist ein kleiner, ruhiger Platz mitten im Nationalpark Wattenmeer. Nur 18 km entfernt von Dänemarks ältester Stadt Ribe, findet man Frieden in schöner Natur. Die Anfahrt ist ein kleines Abenteuer für sich, denn Mandø hat keine Fähre, man kann …die Insel nur bei Ebbe auf einem Schotterdamm erreichen, dabei fährt man durch ein echtes Vogelparadies. Der Platz liegt am Dorfrand mit Blick in die Felder, nur 500m vom Strand entfernt. Unsere 3 Wiesen mit 58 Plätzen für Tagesgäste sind von Hecken und Rosenbüschen umgeben. Auf einer stehen auch unsere beiden Campinghütten für bis zu 6 Personen, die Ausstattung ist Kategorie 4a, siehe Webseite. Spielplatz und Grillplatz liegen neben dem Servicegebäude: 4 Familienwaschräume (Dusche à 4 DKK), 2 seperate WCs, kleine Küche mit Elektroplatten (2,00 DKK) und 2 Waschbecken, Waschmaschiene, Bügeleisen, Fön. Einer der Familienwaschräume ist behindertenfreundlich bezüglich Rangierfläche und Türbreite, allerdings weiter nicht behindertengerecht. Der Kaufmann (= Camping-Rezeption) liegt direkt neben dem Platz und hat die ganze Saison täglich geöffnet. Lebensmittel, frische Brötschen, Eis, Grillwaren, Souveniers, Briefmarken, Campingzubehör, etc. - hier findet man alles was man braucht.

Directions

Fahren Sie nach Ribe, zB. von der Autobahn E45 kurz hinter der Grenze abfahren auf die die Bundesstrasse [175/179]und dann ab Ribe über die [11] Richtung Süden. Entweder am zweiten Kreisel oder alternativ einige Kilometer weiter südlich den Schildern "Mandø" …und "Vadehavcenter" folgen. In Vestervedsted folgen Sie bitte weiter den Schildern "Mandø" und später rechts ab: "Mandø" und "Låningsvej". Fahren Sie nicht links herum auf den "Ebbevej", so verheissungsvoll das auch klingt, dort kann nur der Traktorbus fahren. Wenn Sie dieses Erlebnis wünschen, zB. als Tagesausflug, so liegt der Bushalteplatz nur wenige Meter entfernt. Oder Sie fahren weiter mit dem eigenen Auto über unseren Schotterdamm zur Insel. Bitte erkundigen Sie sich rechtszeitig nach den Ebbe- und Flutzeiten, der Damm ist zweimal am Tag überflutet! Tel: ++45 75 44 51 02
