Description

Profile
Welcome to our campsite! We offer a large campground for tents and caravans, with a pool, a bar /snack bar, four en-suite rooms, 6 Glamping tents, and great facilities. For campers, we have showers, toilets, washing machines, a … dishwashing area, electricity, and waste disposal for grey and black water. We are situated in the beautiful historic Kaya Valley, just 8km from the market town of Fethiye. Fethiye is situated in the heart of ancient Lycia and host to a number of historic sites. Kadyanda, Kaunos, Tlos, Pinara, Letoon, Xanthos, and Patara are noteworthy, and within an hour to 90 minutes’ drive away. The gulf of Fethiye is also rich in scenic opportunity with plenty to explore – the dramatic beaches of the Fethiye peninsula, the market town of Fethiye itself, the fascinating ruins of Kayaköy, the remarkable Dalyan Delta further afield, together with the surrounding pine clad mountains. Dramatic mountains, stunning beaches, cosmopolitan marinas, rustic villages, and the wonderful islands of the gulf, all combine to provide a snapshot of the diversity which makes this region of Turkey so special. Walking There are many wonderful places to explore on foot from our campsite, from walking down to Gemiler Bay to walking around the ruins of the Greek town in the main part of Kayaköy. The Greek town was abandoned in 1923 at the time of the population exchange between Greece and Turkey, and you can walk around the old houses, churches and up to the chapel high on the hill which can be seen from our campsite. Our friend has written a book detailing the walks in the valley and introducing you to parts of the abandoned Greek town of Levissi, as Kayaköy used to be known. This is available for purchase at our camp. You may also like to bring along a copy of the novel, ‘Birds without Wings’ by Louis de Bernieres, which was based on the story of the Greek town in this valley. Slightly further afield, the famous Lycian Way starts just a few kilometres from here. It is described as one of the best walking trails in the world. Early and late season are the best times to explore this, whilst the weather is temperate. It's easy to get around with or without a car. There are buses to take you to the beaches, or to Fethiye, and we have some bicycles for hire. There are many restaurants close by, you will be spoilt for choice! Come and join us!
