"Rustic spot (in late season) - We camped here with a tent. For us, the charm is in its simplicity. Do not expect animation. There is a playground though. Good starting point to walk E8 in combination with bike (or car) and bus. A bus goes from Hainburg to Bratislava. The visit to the Carnnuntum also seems very worthwhile, but that did not fit into our program. Too bad the adjacent Gasthof is only open at noon. You can get a nice cold beer from the vending machine, though. The location on the railroad and the access route for the through road causes some nuisance in the early morning. At night we were not bothered by traffic noise.

"simple place - simple, flat meadow pitch, close to the road and the railroad, quiet at night, sanitary facilities together with the tennis court-very basic, restaurant=tennis parlor ok, vending machines, everyone very friendly

"Those who can avoid this place should do so - Unfortunately, we had to spend the night here on our cycle tour in August 2017. Rotten, unkempt outdoor facilities, sanitary facilities of a rarely used tennis hall, in the men's area there is a washbasin with cold water, a urinal and a toilet as well as four showers - and all this in combination with a large changing room of the probably hardly used tennis hall, cleanliness not acceptable, reception is only open for a short time in the evening, hardly any information material, noise from the railroad and bypass road

"A pleasant family camping experience while wandering through Austria - We used the tiny camp for one night for a group of 25 students on a tour of Roman sights. We appreciated the friendliness of the owners, the cleanliness of the grounds. There is a train nearby, but fortunately it has a break at night. Toilets/showers are adequate for the smaller capacity There is no refreshment service at the campsite, but basic drinks can be bought from the vending machine. Ideal for smaller groups. If you are looking for a modest campsite for one night - recommended.

"the stop - small CP with 10-12 unplaced pitches. good for between stops. Washing-up area only cold and unkempt. WC/shower only in tennis hall. Coffee/via drinks machine.

"Only suitable for transit - Unfortunately, this is the only "campsite" in this area. It is acceptable for travelers passing through, but nothing more. The owners are friendly. The site is small and can be described more as a pitch with toilets. The price-performance ratio is certainly not right here.

Der Campingplatz Petronell-Carnuntum ist ein sehr kleiner Campingplatz im Weinort Petronell-Carnuntum. Die Ortschaft ist vor allem durch seine römische Geschichte bekannt ist. So gilt das berühmte Heidentor als das bedeutendste antike Monument auf Österreichischem Boden. Der Campingplatz liegt angeschlossen an …eine Tennishalle mit Gasthaus. Für die Campinggäste stehen die Sanitäranlagen der Tennishalle zur Verfügung (Gemeinschaftsdusche Herren und Damen getrennt) Weitere Gasthäuser sind im 700m entfernten Ortskern zu finden. Einkaufsmöglichkeit gibts im Ort von 7-12 Uhr, ansonsten 3km enfernt in der Nachbarortschaft. Tankstelle und Werkstätte gibts im Ort. Sehenswertes in der Umgebung: Römerpark Carnuntum,der Nationalpark Donauauen, Naturschutzgebiet Hundsheimer Berge (besonders im Frühsommer und Herbst sehenswert), Marchfeldschlösser (insbesondere Schloss Hof) Weitere Infos auf unserer Homepage: www.tennishalle-petronell.at/camping
