Quiet campsite in beautiful surroundings
Quiet not too large campsite (75 pl.), with fairly spacious sites (approx. 120m2) with water point and most with electricity (6A). Plots with sun/partial shade and leafy landscaping. Friendly reception and owners. Good sanitary facilities, including separate chemical toilet dump, cleaned 2x/day. International... guests, including Dutch, but mainly English. Price per night for 2pp. with electricity, car+caravan € 25,70 (€ 0,70 tourist tax) Good accessibility pitches. Tennis court and play facilities for youth outside available. There is no WiFi; on nearby vacation park (approx. 200m; costs € 20,00/week!!) Camping has, as far as known, no e-mail address, but a website (www.camping-lesbatardieres.com). Reservations in high season necessary (from February). Groceries/shops in Longeville-sur-Mer/St.Vincent-sur-Jard and especially in the seaside resort Jard-sur-Mer. Camping is about 5 km. from the beaches. Surroundings are slightly hilly and from campsite there is good cycling. Beautiful bicycle routes along the coast in northern and southern direction, partly through groves and dunes. For good description cycling routes (long/short) see free booklet with map of 'Vélo Vendee' at tourist offices or order via www.vendee-tourisme.com. Beautiful route from St.-Jard-sur-Mer to Les Sables-d'Olonne about 24 km. Sometimes more or less hilly route through beautiful countryside ('marais') and large parts right along the coastline with almost uninterrupted views of the Atlantique. Along the way many little beaches and nice towns. Les Sables d'Olonne: fashionable seaside resort with boulevard/shops. Also in southern direction to La Tranche-sur-Mer is a beautiful route partly through woods and dunes. Also here beautiful beaches and towns along the way. For hikers also plenty of space along the coast and through the dunes. Also tourist info at the reception.
