Description

Profile
Welcome to Beynac in the Périgord Noir Location Le Capeyrou is situated on the river Dordogne in the heart of the “ Five Castles Valley” surrounded by the famous castles of Beynac, Castelnaud, Marqueyssac, Fayrac and les Milandes. You can … relax and enjoy the beautiful views from the swimming pool or from your own private pitch. The campsite is located in a peaceful oasis and offers spacious pitches (100 m²), shaded and protected by hedges. The site has two sanitary blocks, both with individual shower and washrooms, baby rooms, facilities for handicapped holiday makers, laundry services and a service area for mobile homes. In the evenings you can enjoy a drink in our warm and friendly bar not to mention a game of darts or snooker and on chilly days you can curl up by an open fire. The campsite is located at the entrance to the village of Beynac, with the village centre and its shops, bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Facilities for you to enjoy - A large swimming pool (20x12 m, with overflow system), and an independent children’s pool - A clean and sandy beach for swimming in the river, located 100m from the campsite. Coarse fishing is permitted on the river (carp, chub, barbel, roach, and bream) - Children’s games include volley ball, pétanque, table tennis and badminton - Bikes for hire, pedestrian pathways - Canoes and kayaks are available for hire from the beach, and boat excursions regularly leave to explore the river. Cliff climbing, pot-holing and balloon flights are all available within a 3 km radius of the campsite. - Tennis courts are within 100m, and a nine-hole golf course is located 5 km away. What to do and see in Beynac - The campsite is overlooked by a rocky outcrop upon which sits the feudal castle of Beynac. The castle was originally the residence of one of four Barons of the Perigord and was built to defend the valley (occupied from the 12th to the 17th century). It now offers a chance to re-visit the medieval period and is widely celebrated as one of the most beautiful castles in France. - The village of Beynac is steeped in medieval character and is divided into four districts; each with old winding lanes, small paved squares and stout walls, secured by strongly fortified doors. Beynac is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in the whole of France (“Les plus Beaux Villages de France”). Around Beynac - The area surrounding Beynac is one of the world’s premier sites of Pre-Historic or Cro-Magnon Man. There are many popular sites within a 30 km radius, including the famous troglodyte caves decorated with wall paintings at Lascaux – Font de Gaume. - There are more than a hundred castles and medieval villages (such as Domme and Monpazier) in the Black Périgord, and the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat, is only 10 km away. - Whatever the season, the countryside and forests are rich in vegetation. Mushrooms, wild strawberries, walnuts, sweet chestnuts and flowers are waiting for you to pick them. - Périgord Noir is well known for its cuisine. It is the home of fois gras, and a wide range of delicious dishes. Above all, visit us here to relax, unwind and enjoy life’s simple pleasures – Such is the good life! How to find us : Long.01°08’55’’E Lat. 44°50’18’’N - Coming from Paris by the A10-A71 and the A20, take the exit Souillac (don’t take the exit Sarlat by the A89) and follow the road to Sarlat (20 km).
