"Space with a view - We visited the site for a few days on our way back from Lake Millstatt. We had our caravan (2.5m x 8.7m) with us, which has a fully usable bathroom with shower. Therefore, the facilities on the pitch with electricity (>= 10A), fresh water and waste water are very important to us. We were allocated pitch HS3 as it suited my desire for particularly easy access with the camper van. The vehicle was quickly aligned, as the pitch was quite level, so we didn't need a chock. Unfortunately, it turned out that the fresh water pressure must be well below two bar, as it was only dripping from the tap. We were compensated with a wonderful view of the small Pölven and the Wilder Kaiser in the distance. The ladies at reception deserve a special mention, as you can tell straight away that the Franzlhof is not just a campsite, but also a hotel. They really knew what I had written when I made the reservation and were always quick to help. The food in the hotel restaurant was also positive. A satisfying meal at a reasonable price, in a positive sense. The campsite is definitely recommended for mountain bikers and hikers.

"Franzlhof- beautiful location but poor hygiene and no connections on site - After the corona-related lockdown, we were really looking forward to our vacation in the Wilder Kaiser region. The location and the weather were very nice. What we then experienced was partly catastrophic! The site was completely overbooked and caravans were placed directly in front of us on the meadow beyond the site plan. The modern sanitary facilities were only cleaned once a day and were all infested with mold due to a lack of ventilation. Only one disinfectant was placed at the exit, so that guests used the facilities without hand disinfection. The waste station was sometimes so overloaded that it was just chaotic. The adjacent vacation cabins were booked several times by party guests, especially at the weekend, and were sometimes noisy until midnight. As there are no site rules, we were told that the guests should sort it out amongst themselves. We tried to talk to the operator several times about the whole situation (especially the overbooking), but to no avail. A visit to the tourist office resulted in the operator being so annoyed that he asked us to leave. We then actually ended our vacation prematurely. Because we didn't want a corona infection as a memory. Our conclusion: Franzlhof - never again!!!
