Advantages
- the Maggia right outside the door - Bread, rolls and croissants can be pre-ordered - Good public transport connections (public transport included)
Negatives
- no direct shopping facilities (only the essentials) - some sloping places with roots and stones - not all power distributors are converted to CEE (CH travel adapter required)
Directly on the Maggia
It is a very natural site. Sanitary facilities were always clean. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a real recommendation.

Pool unfortunately not heated, long way to fresh water, very shady in October
Quiet, clean,
We know the site from previous stays in the summer. Well-kept pitches, very clean sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, no fresh water on the pitch or in the immediate vicinity. The campsite is unfortunately already very shady in mid-October. The staff very friendly, booking etc went smoothly.

Advantages
The facilites, food prep area, dining area.
Negatives
our site was rooty and rocky which made pitching a tent very challenging and we were concerned it was going to make a hole in the floor. We camped for three months and this was the most expensive campground we stayed at. Parking was a wee distance from the site.
A mixed bag
The facilities here were excellent. I think there was a fridge and there was definitely somewhere they we could freeze icepaks. There was also a place to sit and eat which we really appreciated as we weren't able to travel with table and chairs. We were initially disappointed with this campground... because the site was so unwelcoming, especially given the high cost of staying there, but we really appreciated the facilities so that made us happier. I would probably try and find somewhere cheaper if I had to camp in the area again though.

Advantages
Pitch right on the Maggia; super friendly staff, clean toilets/washrooms; public transport included and great restaurant. We arrived spontaneously and changed our itinerary because it was so idyllic.
Negatives
Late risers could be woken up by the helicopters from 8 am. It didn't bother us.
Nature paradise
Pitch right on the Maggia; super friendly staff, clean toilets/washrooms; public transport included and great restaurant. We arrived spontaneously and changed our itinerary because of the great ambience. It was just so idyllic and beautiful and there is so much to explore.... If our pitch hadn't been reserved from Wednesday, we would have spent the whole vacation there. We will definitely be back.

There was nothing worth mentioning.
Real nature camping with comfort
We liked it all around, real camping in nature, with the comfort of new, very clean sanitary facilities, you were very free on the site, there were no nonsensical rules and prohibitions. We have already recommended the site to others and would like to mention the friendly staff and the always hot water for showers and washing up.
The cycle paths on the doorstep and the discounts on cable cars and free travel on buses and trains were great.

Negatives
That the vacation was too short ;-)
Odyllic, quiet tent meadow. Top equipment.
We really enjoyed our vacation on your campground!
Great location, quiet & really idyllic. In 2 minutes you can walk to the river, which invites you to swim.
Very modern & clean sanitary facilities. There is even a covered kitchen for general use for the tent guests! We also really liked the large fridge,... which was available free of charge. WLAN works perfectly. We felt completely at home for the entire 10 days, which was not least due to the really friendly staff! As I write these lines, I still can't think of a single negative point of criticism! Many thanks & see you next time!

Advantages
Reception/entrance/sanitary area quite OK. Friendly service.
Negatives
see comment: small pitches (for classic family caravans) general condition of the campsite by no means 4-star Price/performance ratio
Price/performance is not right (pitches max 2-star)
We were visiting at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct 2021. Reception, entrance and sanitary facilities were quite ok, we were also served promptly.
The bathroom was not heated in the fall, I didn't see anyone bathing there during the whole week. In addition, it is not very deep in most places, only in... a relatively small place probably about 1.20 m.
The pitches are very small. We have a classic family caravan with a central dinette, total length 7.80m. If you don't place it completely in a corner, the vehicle has no room on the pitch next to the caravan with awning!
In addition, the pitch area is by no means 4-star quality, max. 2-star (which wouldn't bother me if it weren't for the high price). The roads to the pitches are in very poor condition, the road drainage system is completely blocked, which leads to large puddles on the road. There is almost no grass (pitches 80% sand/gravel), and where there is, it is not mowed. The leaves on the trees were also not removed.
Price/performance ratio is therefore by no means right, or with a 20% membership discount probably about OK, (although I am not a TCS member to make an overpriced place "affordable", but actually that would be different)!
You also have to be aware that Gordevio is relatively far back in the Maggia Valley, so there is little sun on the course in the fall.

Advantages
Location on the Maggia
Negatives
Very narrow pitches Hot water is a matter of luck
Too expensive
For the price, you expect reasonable pitches (all very narrow) and a functioning hot water supply at all the relevant points. Apart from the (only) sanitary building, no other water points or sinks on the entire campsite.
The site is in urgent need of renovation.

Advantages
the location on the Maggia
Negatives
- Never hot water when washing up - No information about Tessin Card on arrival - Somewhat grubby (lights in the toilet facilities have not been cleaned of vermin for years) - Too few showers (all individual showers closed)
Top level?
For me the price/performance ratio is not right, despite Corona you could make more of the place. I had the impression that they weren't really making an effort "people are coming anyway...?"

Advantages
The location is excellent. The pitches are large enough. Many long-term campers. Excellent restaurant nearby. Pool is nice.
Negatives
- Hygiene standard of the sanitary facilities (mold on the walls, leaking siphons) - 70% of the time cold water in the washrooms and parts of the showers - No checking of the mask requirement by the staff in the common areas (only partially implemented after my complaint) - The playground for children is more a token point for the camping homepage than worth mentioning. This is not a playground suitable for children
Overwhelmed by the coronavirus situation
The proposed hygiene concept was clearly displayed, but no importance was attached to its implementation. It was only after I complained that staff were posted from time to time. However, this did little to change the compulsory wearing of masks by visitors to the campsite. I was also told that I could... keep order myself, which I did from time to time, although this was not part of my duties as a vacation guest. All in all, I had the impression that no great importance is attached to compliance with the corona rules.

Negatives
Today there was no hot water from the afternoon until the end of the day. Cause unknown.
Entertaining time
It is a quiet, child-friendly and dog-friendly campsite. We don't have a dog ourselves, but they didn't bother us at any time, it was clean and there was no barking. In addition, the campsite was generally quiet from around 9.00 pm. The sanitary facilities were cleaned very regularly, everything was very clean.

Dear roland-638829

We would also like to thank you once again for your stay with us at TCS Camping in Gordevio, Valle Maggia. We were very pleased to hear your words of praise and that you had a good time.

Surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Maggia Valley, our campsite offers pure relaxation.... Especially with the tropical temperatures of the last few weeks, there is nothing better than cooling off in the cool river.

Unfortunately, there is not much we can do about the store next door. If you like, please write us a personal e-mail or give us a call so that you can describe the events in more detail.

See you soon.
