"Large rectangular meadow - The site essentially consists of a large rectangular meadow. There is no division between the individual plots (no hedges, no privacy screen). The toilets were ok, the showers too small but at least the hot water was free. The kitchen and lounge were ok.

"Nice place, good location - The site is located directly on the lake, from the caravan it is about 100m to the water. Unfortunately, the one sandy beach has a playground but is only suitable for swimming with bathing shoes. Too many stones on the shore and in the water. On the other side there is another sandy beach with a jetty to walk in, where it is much better for swimming. Everything on the site is cashless, even the washing machine. It's a bit inconvenient but still ok. WLAN works well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cycle paths in the region are very well developed and Karlstad is therefore easy to reach by bike. The pitch is a little more expensive than other pitches, but still within reasonable limits. We only had shade for breakfast as we were next to the forest. Sanitary facilities are good (old) or slightly better (newer). Unfortunately the hot water is not always enough for everyone. For people with tents there is a well-equipped kitchen with oven, stove, fridge and microwave. The site is recommended if you are passing through or want to stay for 2-3 days.

"Camping - We stayed at this place for one night. The reception was friendly. One point off for the food, as the bread rolls for breakfast were only available from 9.30am, by which time we actually wanted to be on our way again. On the other hand, there is a very good restaurant right on the lake. It's not the cheapest, but the food was very good. The sanitary facilities were pleasantly clean, but unfortunately rather too small for the number of people on the site. On the whole, however, a good campsite, especially for those passing through.

Profile

The Idyllic First Camp Mörudden-Hammarö just by the coastline of lake Vänern offers a holiday in a wonderful archipelago environment. The combination of the beautiful and untouched nature, many places to go for a swim and the closeness of Karlstad …city makes the guests return year after year. Hammarö offers several national parks with relaxing walking trails. Here you will also find several beautiful places to go for a swim by both a sandy beach and cliffs. It is also a paradise for those who like to go fishing, surfing and practice other water sports. During winter its popular to go for walks or jigging on the ice. The city of Karlstad with its shopping, culture and fun activities is only 9 kilometers away by car or public transport. If you want to go on a day trip we can recommend a car ride to Sunne water park and Selma Lagerlöfs Mårbacka. A tip is also to at some point visit the camping sites restaurant Möruddens Brygga. It is among Karlstads best restaurants and serves amazing food made with local produce.
