Advantages
Close to the sea. A warm welcome, and Luca was very friendly and helpful when showing me around and assisting me as I pulled out of the campsite in my camper.
Negatives
Expensive. For me and the camper, €312 for 4 nights. Very loud shouting from the evening “show” until just before midnight, and at 5:45 a.m. you’re woken up by the garbage truck,
Not necessarily recommended
On the second day, I went to the restaurant at noon to grab a light meal. It was also very hot. The friendly lady showed me to a table and told me they had a buffet or à la carte options. I decided to go with à la carte. So far, so good. The next day, I wanted to grab a bite to eat at 8:45 p.m. and... went back to the restaurant. Just like that afternoon, I waited until a young, friendly lady asked me if I’d like to eat. She then seated me at a table on the terrace and asked what I’d like to drink. When I asked for the menu, she said that only the buffet was available. But since that was too much for me, she suggested the kids’ menu—a small pizza and a salad. Perfect for me. After a while, an older gentleman named Antonio—possibly the maître d’—came over and accused me in German of sitting down at this table without asking. I clarified the situation, however (German is my native language, and until recently I was a successful, independent restaurateur in Italy). He turned away for a few seconds, then said in a loud voice, gesturing wildly, “Get out of here—you won’t be served here.” Nothing like this has ever happened to me in my entire life. Of course, I left the restaurant immediately and reported the incident to management via email a few minutes later. I have not received a response.

Advantages
- Baia Azzurro is nestled in a beautiful natural setting. - The pitches themselves are fine. Everything is nicely laid out flat and mostly shaded by plane trees. - Sanitary and washing facilities are chic and recent. - Many modern camping bungalows, which we cannot judge. - Really nice pool area with water park for children. - Nice restaurant, which we did not visit. - Useful WLAN, but nowhere near as good as our TIM flat-rate SIM card for €17/30 days.
Negatives
Negatives: - Far away from shopping facilities, 7 km to Castiglione, where there is a COOP and EuroSpin. - No signs anywhere (to the sea, the market, toilets etc.). Why should we, you can ask the other guests... - Inscrutable online reservation system with countless options. I don't know of any campsite in Italy or Croatia with such a complicated and pointless booking procedure. - Our check-in took ¾ hours for a caravan and 2 adults, and this was in the low season. - We booked 7 nights in advance in May and paid €192 for this. We were charged €48 (¼ of our 7-night stay) for an extra night on site. - The market on site is modestly assorted and totally overpriced. They probably take advantage of the fact that most customers are permanently installed in their camper vans and can't drive away quickly to go shopping. Two examples: We were charged €2.40 for a 220 gr. bread roll, which works out at €10.90 per kg for bread. - We had to pay the normal price of €1.90 for the salad labeled 'Promozione' at €1.29. The promotion had expired. The promotion had expired, we were told laconically at the till. - The sanitary facilities were clean in the morning, but by lunchtime it looked like a company of soldiers had passed by. We couldn't see any subsequent cleaning. - Neither soap dispensers nor hand dryer facilities in the sanitary facilities. - Pitches not mowed and some without any significant separation from the neighboring pitch. - The largest part of the beach section, approx. 800 meters away, is occupied by sun loungers for a fee, which cost an incredible 30 €/day in high season (2 sun loungers, 1 umbrella), 1st row: +5 € surcharge.
Be careful at this campsite!
Of the 5 ADAC stars awarded to Baia Azzurra, 2* can be safely deducted. The actually very beautiful site, wonderfully embedded in a dreamlike natural setting, destroys its good image itself through arrogant financial behavior. Customer friendliness is different. In some cases, they are mercilessly ripping you off. We cannot even recommend the campsite with reservations and would never come here again.

Advantages
Top W-Lan, many activities possible for guests without dogs Pool, own beach, etc
Negatives
no dog meadow, dog shower far away, dog beach even further away
Recommended with restrictions for guests with dogs
There is no dog meadow, as is actually stated in the description. The dog shower is outside the campsite half a kilometer away from the pitch, and the advertised dog beach is also not 300 meters away, but over 1km. All in all, disappointing for dog owners, as the location is not so good for walks. You... pay for many things (pool, private beach of the campsite, etc.) and as a dog owner who doesn't want to leave his dogs alone, you have to pay extra for the dog, so you could at least expect something to come back (e.g. poop bags with containers).

Advantages
Sanitary facilities are good. The guide, when he comes, is nice.
Negatives
The pitches are very dusty and unkempt. The pool is noisy around the clock. The restaurant manager has to be singled out for his insolence and arrogance towards his guests. Competence looks different. The beach can only be used for a fee (25 € per day).
Cheeky and loud.
I would only book online, as the prices on site are almost twice as high. Unfortunately, I saw this too late.

Advantages
Pitch okay, sanitary clean
Negatives
Noise and rip-offs
Noise without end
Rip-off on the beach: most of the beach is occupied by sun loungers for which a fee is charged
There is not even toilet paper in the toilets.
And at night you have no peace and quiet until almost midnight: you are deafeningly drowned out by loudspeakers from the pool and the neighboring campsite. Never again!

Advantages
+ strong and stable WLAN + new sanitary facilities + good infrastructure + good instruction service
Negatives
- Many things with a considerable surcharge - Drain odor from the sanitary facilities spills over again and again - very unpleasant - ignorant staff - Sanitary facilities are cleaned too rarely - Lots of mosquitoes and small white insects and ants that overrun the caravan
Not worth the money!
I have booked from 21.08-30.08. and pay €95 per night for my Premium+ pitch with my wife and three children.
If my boys want to play soccer on the mostly empty soccer pitch, I have to pay either €50/hour or €70 for an evening.
The campsite beach is almost completely covered with sun loungers, which have... to be rented for €21-25 per day. According to the brochure, "sunbeds are available to guests subject to availability" but only at an additional cost 🤷🏻. This means that the beach can only be used for a fee. Or you can walk to the crowded "free beach".

The campsite itself makes a nice impression, but could be better maintained, especially with the daily rates.
The sanitary facilities make a new impression and are spacious. Unfortunately, the cleaning could be better. Cleaning once a day is simply not enough! Soaps and toilet paper are not available. The disinfectant dispensers are empty or defective. Questionable in times of COVID restrictions.

All in all, I feel ripped off and don't think the price/performance ratio is appropriate.

Advantages
Picturesque location, good facilities, new wash houses
Negatives
Unfriendly, partly incompetent staff, little space on the beach
Ultimately no recommendation
Our last attempt in Tuscany - unfortunately a failure. The site has been beautifully renovated, the sanitary facilities are great, the pitches are spacious. The staff are often overwhelmed and occasionally really rude. Check-in takes a long time, chaos on the forecourt is inevitable.
During the recent... renovation, the approaches for caravans were very unfavorably designed, with a chicane (which I failed at, for which I was allowed to be insulted). The restaurant is not particularly good, but it is booked out very quickly even when the site is not full.
Recently there is 10A on site. However, it's not really clear why the fuse has to be locked, and even less clear why it takes almost an hour to reactivate it.
The path to the beach is nicely developed, about 700m. The bar there (part of the campsite) is very nice. The rather narrow beach was well filled with "bagno" sets, which were doubled towards the end of our stay. If you are not prepared to pay 25.-/day for a set you are practically out, the remaining free space is hardly reasonable.

Advantages
Beautiful area, clean beach, regional products
Negatives
Dusty, muddy parking lot, parking lot regulations, narrow paths, inflexible reception staff
Nice staff, except for the bitchy receptionists
The paths are too narrow. The mighty plane trees make it impossible to reach the pitches with a trailer. Unhitch! Some of the main paths are thickly gravelled and difficult to drive on with a bike or waste water tank. The pitches are dusty or muddy, depending on the weather, as there is no grass or gravel.... Lots of mosquitoes and ants, for which nothing was done within 14 days. Staff in the restaurant are very friendly, food is good. The small store is well stocked, tasty sausage, nice staff. The reception staff are bitchy and only nice as long as you don't have a problem. They have never heard of customer friendliness. The car may only be taken to the parking lot on arrival and immediately before departure. The parking regulations are impossible and incomprehensible. Purchases must be transported to the parking space with a wheelbarrow. However, the wheelbarrow may not be taken to the parking lot or the beach. It was 500 meters from our central parking space. That's a long way with beach luggage, SUP board, etc.

Very clean and well thought out
The campsite is very clean. New and high-quality sanitary facilities. The pitches range from very good to very large. The entrances to the pitches are relatively narrow. The concept of the campsite is very well thought out and beautiful. There are extra facilities for dogs and children. From showers to areas.

Not a suitable place for a vacation with a dog
Not a good place for a vacation with a dog
Dog costs 8€ per day, but is not allowed on the beach, in the pool or in the restaurant; the whole stay must be paid on arrival, a very unusual procedure! The place is clean but remote and not worth the high price in the slightest!

unclean, zero hygiene, unfriendly staff, you can't even drive to your caravan to unload after shopping
outdated, unclean sanitary facilities, poor restaurant
We go on camping vacation at least twice a year with 2 children with camper and have already seen some campsites, we will never see Baia Azzurra again, sanitary facilities do not work at all, restaurant unfriendly service, food quality miserable, the pool was only open until 7 pm, despite the heat, but then there is the complete sound system until midnight.

I can't think of anything!
A great place!
A very nice campsite completely under deciduous trees, which was very pleasant in July/August. The short path to the beach is beautifully laid out, the sea is very clean and crystal clear. The very pretty town of Castiglione della Pescaia is not far away and is well worth a visit, especially in the evening.... There are lots of great restaurants and lovely stores there. We went on many sightseeing excursions, and the location of the campsite is ideal for this. The pool area is very nicely laid out and you always get a sun lounger, as the typical German towel reservation is not allowed! We thought that was great! The newer wash house has a modern design and was always very clean. The fact that we had to take the toilet paper with us was unusual at first, but then we didn't find it too bad. The older wash house will be replaced by a new one next year. Overall, we liked it very much, our children were also happy as they didn't want to go to a disco or party (we knew beforehand that it wasn't a special party place. There was always good music playing at the pool during the entertainment program! All in all, a top place with friendly staff!

Advantages
The surrounding area with beautiful beaches and villages.
Negatives
Eating out is very expensive, as everywhere in Tuscany, and the portions are very small. The old wash house.
Motorhome
A very pleasant site with quick access to the beach and a nice pool area. One newer and one older wash house. The old one can only be demolished. Impossible condition. As a consolation, there's probably toilet paper there and not in the new wing. The restaurant is so-so and the supermarket is absolutely fine.

hmmm... Toilet paper in the new sanitary facilities
Cool pool area, beautiful sea
The campsite has everything you need for your vacation. You can even book breakfast or half board. The bus (€ 1.--/p.) goes directly from the campsite to Castiglione della Pescaia. A chip takes you to the private access to the clean, gently sloping sandy beach and beautiful, crystal-clear sea. The old... sanitary building is in need of renovation, purely in terms of appearance. In the new sanitary building you look in vain for toilet paper, you clean your bottom with a hand shower. The pool area is well designed and also open at lunchtime, which our kids really enjoyed. The pitches are nothing special, just average. The playground is nicely laid out behind the entertainment stage. The whole infrastructure also costs something, I think the campsite is in the upper price category in high season.
