- D H.rugpjūtis 2025ΘετικάNice locationΑρνητικάBad hospitality, money minded owner, pay for everythingGreat location, bad hospitalityWe recently stayed at Brusand Camping with our small children. The campsite itself is great: well-maintained, clean facilities, and a beautiful location close to the beach. Nothing to complain about in terms of infrastructure.
However, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by how the situation... was handled when we had to leave early due to incoming bad weather. We had booked and paid for 3 nights, but decided to leave after the first night because packing up in heavy rain with little kids would have been very difficult.
We politely asked the owner if there was any understanding or flexibility possible — not necessarily a full refund, but at least some consideration of the situation. We fully understand that last-minute changes can be inconvenient for the campsite too, and we were willing to accept paying more than just one night. But there was absolutely no empathy or willingness to talk. The only response we got was: “You booked 3 nights, so you pay for 3 nights.”
When we ended the conversation by saying “Have a nice day,” the owner replied: “I am having a great day — I run a successful business.” That kind of arrogance, especially when someone is asking for help in a reasonable tone, was both surprising and disappointing.
The camping itself may be a lovely place, but experiences like these can discourage people from returning or recommending it. Hospitality is about more than location and facilities — it’s also about how you treat people, especially in moments where a bit of empathy makes all the difference. - Anke B.liepa 2025ΘετικάLocation Friendliness of the staff Design of the campsite Beach Family and dog friendlyΑρνητικάCard system somewhat complicated As a camper with a caravan you don't really feel welcomeTop location on one of the most beautiful beaches in NorwayA beautiful, well-kept campsite right on the North Sea with a wonderful beach and crystal-clear water. The site is relatively large, the paths to the only toilet block at the entrance are long. There are 70 drop-in pitches which are not bookable, first come first served. The best time to arrive is between... 12.00 and 14.00. The tourist pitches face the sea. There are many permanent campers behind them, but you don't notice them. The site is beautifully laid out and well maintained. The pitches are on tarmac with grass and are already very large. There are various fields which are bordered by hedges and trees. We were told by email that we could just turn up. On site then the disillusionment...actually you would have space but for car and caravan it looks bad. We shouldn't get it wrong, he would have liked us as vacationers but not with a caravan. The deal was that we were allowed to stay one night but only if we left early and checked out beforehand with the card and only then drove out of the campsite so as not to cause a traffic jam in the driveway. That's how we did it, the next morning there were no campers to be seen far and wide and we were able to drive out relaxed. The site was 90% occupied by campers and motorhomes. The rest were caravans or tents. You check in at the machine, electricity on site and showers, hot water are paid extra and you need the card for this. It's actually a good system, a bit complicated but there are lots of nice and helpful staff who explain everything well and give tips. The pitch costs 350 NOK and 200 euros are charged extra for electricity, hot water and a deposit card. 50 NOK will be refunded in any case as well as the unused credit for electricity etc.. The refund was in my account the next day. The reception has ice cream, bread rolls and pastries and pizza in the morning. The sanitary facilities are small and reached their limits. Unfortunately the toilets were dirty in the morning. Nice playground.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Jan R.rugpjūtis 2020ΘετικάSuper clean and well laid out placeΑρνητικά?Nice and clean place right by the seaWe felt completely at ease here. The self-check-in machine is also explained with friendly help from the site operators. The pitches are partly laid out with terraces, lawns and concrete surfaces. The sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean and with the ServiceCard, which you can top up at check-in, you can take a 5-minute shower with hot water for 15 kr.
The view over the dunes to the sea is great.Αυτόματη μετάφραση. - Thomas K.liepa 2019Θετικάbeautiful location on the North SeaΑρνητικάStandard services additionally chargeableAll for a feeThe campsite is beautifully situated. Some pitches even have a wooden terrace. The pitches are pleasantly large. The own pitch was very easy to access with a camper van. The sanitary facilities are very good. Unfortunately, everything here is subject to a charge. Everything can be paid for or access... granted using a credit card with a maximum of NOK 100. After using/debiting the service, the remaining amount is not displayed. You are pretty much in the dark. Washing machine 60 NOK (detergent must be brought), dryer 60 NOK, showers 5min 40 NOK, hot water for washing up 30 NOK, use of stove I have not asked anymore, but is also chargeable. WiFi is free but is activated for a maximum of 1 hour per account and can only be received at reception. It's a shame that the standard services are not included in the NOK 300 price. We know this from all previous CPs.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Udo S.gegužė 2017ΘετικάPeace and location!ΑρνητικάToo bad that you have to pay NOK 15 or 10 extra for showers (usual) and even hot water for washing up.Simple, but very cozy place. The place is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. What can you do? Long walks on the beach in the sand and dunes, reading, nothing. The pitches are lovingly laid out on gravel with wooden or natural stone forecourts. The sanitary facilities are very simple, but functional. It was just right for me.... The dune beach is about 200 m away and the peace and quiet is unique. However, the reception is only open 9-12 and 16-19 and offers a handful of groceries.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Ursula H.liepa 2015No more camping possibleCampsite only exists with the rental of cabins! However, it is still listed as an existing campsite in all camping guides, whether German, Dutch or Norwegian.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Günther M.birželis 2012Place by the sea; about 100m over meadows to the beach; sanitary facilities clean, but small (3 men's toilets; 3 men's showers; I didn't see the ladies' showers), showers 10 kr; price 250 kr; like everything in Norway expensive; electricity for a fee; TV room; WLAN for a feeΑυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Simone W.rugsėjis 2010We stayed at the campsite for two days because we liked the location by the sea so much. As September is already low season, you don't meet anyone at reception. You look for a pitch and wait until someone knocks on the door in the evening to collect money. There are very few power points and you need... quite a long cable to plug in. The sanitary facilities were not cleaned during the two days. Certainly didn't give the impression. Very secluded but just right for those seeking peace and quiet. The beach and the dunes are very beautiful if you don't have such a strong wind as we did on one of the days.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Tack W.birželis 2010We liked Brusand so much that we stayed longer; we were particularly fascinated by the fantastic beach and the dune landscape.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
