The DCC Plus pitch could not be combined with the Ufer pitch, although we were promised this at reception. After doing our own math, we realized that there was a clear miscalculation. The question about another pitch was also denied... due to full occupancy, although the pitch was half empty on the days in question!
Moving would have meant dismantling/erecting again so we paid the extra €15 per day and couldn't use our DCC bonus.
The facilities are also not worth 4 stars. The lake is not allowed for swimming and washing up but reserved for the local anglers, the sanitary facilities are outdated, the site is full of stinging nettles and molehills and only a 'narrow long towel'.

Unfortunately, this proved to be a big problem for the staff. When we informed them, they told us that this was not appreciated and that they would not accept any liability. I think in the age of 2025 it shouldn't be a problem for a reception to accept a package from guests. We had also rented table tennis bats. Unfortunately, the balls were both dented and the other balls were rubber balls, which were impossible to play with. The beach volleyball court is grass.Unfortunately not recommendedUnfortunately, our stay at this campsite was very disappointing. There was always an unpleasant smell of sewage and sewers throughout the site, which was particularly annoying in the sanitary facilities. The drains there smelled strongly, and the water regulation in the showers and washbasins didn't... work at all - sometimes only boiling hot water came out, so you could easily burn yourself, sometimes only cold water.
The prices are also completely disproportionate to the service offered. The campsite is hardly suitable for families: The playground is very run-down, hasn't been renovated for years and doesn't make an inviting impression. In addition, the staff were neither friendly nor helpful.

We also received a very warm welcome. A lovely little village with nice cafés, pubs and restaurants. The site is well maintained, the sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff are really nice... and courteous. Now to the negative. The pitch on the lake for a lot of money was a disaster in terms of the condition of the ground. A very large difference in height made aligning the motorhome a real challenge. The ground was filled with sand which made maneuvering very difficult. The fishing license for the lake was really very cheap. Unfortunately we could not reach the place that was assigned to us through the winding park because our caravan was too big / long. (Maybe it would be a suggestion if the size of the caravan was asked for)
Then we were allocated... 2 alternative pitches where we could choose one of them. (Actually quite good)
We had a lake view pitch
But these are very uneven. The drawbar was on the front and the supports at the back were completely extended.
(So I didn't want to end up in the lake at night with a wrong turn and wake up with a waterbed)
So I had to change places again!!!
At the third place it went then and the short vacation could finally start.
Toilet/showers were ok!
Toilet house was already very far away!
Washing machine/dryer were very expensive. With 5€ per load quite expensive I think.
There was also a bread roll service but it was very expensive.
Then there was 1 cupboard with food (that was the store) that nobody actually needs.

The condition of the wash house was also borderline. Dirty, hardly any pressure in the showers and the water was far too hot, so that we had to shower the children in the caravan.

We were right on the water and could enjoy the sunset in the evening. You can fish at the lake or just enjoy nature. The town of Haren is within easy walking distance. There are good restaurants and a great ice cream parlor at the cathedral.

Unfortunately, our pitch was absolutely not in order. We were there with a 7m Womo, which was also known before arrival. The access road was actually only manageable with a car and it was an old permanent camper place that was not cleared (lawn edges, slabs, etc.) In wet... weather we would certainly have gotten stuck. We showed the receptionist a photo and pointed out the problem to him, he neither apologized nor offered any kind of help or solution, which was definitely not okay for the price of 64.50 (prepayment). As we were only there for one night and were quite inexperienced as first-time campers, we swallowed the toad.
