2 km before the site you can stand free on a meadow. The site is popular with off-road drivers. The access road is not suitable for motorhome drivers.

There is a bad 9km road leading there. When we arrived we were told that campers were no longer allowed. But there are cottages for rent.

Dirty, no electricity, no WIFI, no telephone reception,
This space can be left out...
a pitch on a beautiful meadow in the countryside - the pitch has no more "advantages" to offer! In the fall, everything was littered here - probably from the previous season. The operators don't think much of service and helpfulness. Electricity connection could not be provided - although the existing... (dilapidated) huts are all supplied with electricity. The hotel on site has probably seen better days. If, like us, you want to use the site as a "stepping stone" to the nearby castle "Poenari", you would be better advised to use the site directly below the castle!!!

If you drive the Transfagaras from Sibiu, there is a small bridge with the sign Cumpana (off to the right) before the reservoir The campsite is located at the northern end of the reservoir. It can be reached via a 7 km long forest road which winds along the shore with some adventurous passages. Four-wheel... drive vehicles and motorcyclists will of course be delighted. But you can also get there with any other vehicle. The location is really fantastic but even in summer it is quite cool in the evening as it is situated at an altitude of around 800m. Sanitary is available but in a bad condition. In the adjacent hotel there are also toilets which are also far from the European standard. Overnight costs are the equivalent of €3.50 per car, no matter how many people are in it. All in all a very chilled place, where many fires crackle in the evening.
