The washhouse is great. Spacious bathrooms with sinks, showers, and toilets. Very modern and appealing. The campsites are large and well-maintained. Long-term campers and regular campers aren’t separated. The on-site restaurant is highly recommended. Various hiking trails start right at the campground.
Negativ
If you really want to find something negative, it might be the selection at the supermarket. The selection of cold cuts and the like could be a bit wider. Having to pre-order baked goods also takes away some of the spontaneity, though that’s understandable.
Great place with good facilities
Highly recommended and a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

The campground was pleasantly small, so it was quiet and had a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere. You can set out on great hikes right from the campground. In general, Lenzkirch is very well located for day trips—for example, to the Feldberg, Freiburg, Lake Tittisee, and many other destinations. There’s a small supermarket on the campground where you can buy the essentials.

The restrooms were okay. Our private restroom was spacious and generally clean, but the number of spiders suggested that it might have been cleaned only superficially.
A lovely, family-friendly campground
Overall, it’s a lovely, family-run campground. We had a comfortable stay there this week. Our site was plenty big and, fortunately, had some shade. That’s something to keep in mind when choosing a spot. Depending on the location of your site, the electricity and water hookups might be a bit far away. You should take that into account when booking.

A beautiful campground with new restroom facilities
New restroom facilities and fairly clean—as clean as the guests leave them.

The textured floor tiles in the shower are difficult to clean with the provided squeegee. Plus, the squeegee is simply too wide.

The gift shop is very modest; there’s definitely room for improvement. I didn’t find any cookies... or pretzel sticks. However, there’s a good selection of beverages. After all, it’s attached to the brewery on the grounds.

Unfortunately, one (Kreuz) of the two restaurants is closed. The other (Rogg) doesn’t seem to think it’s necessary to compensate for the lack of options by adjusting its hours. Too bad.

Kreuzhof Campground
We stayed briefly at this beautiful campground in the summer of 2026. The campsite was plenty big, the restrooms were always clean, and they aren’t outdated. There’s also a swimming lake and an indoor pool. The campground is located a bit outside of town; you can access the adjacent forest directly by... bike or on foot via an old railroad embankment. There’s also a restaurant and brewery right on the grounds, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this campground—thumbs up!

Another Fantastic Experience
This was our second time there with our huge tent (4×7m), and it certainly won’t be our last. It feels like coming home. There’s plenty for kids to explore—a large playground, a swimming lake, and an indoor pool—and if it rains, they can play inside the common areas. You can also borrow games, balls,... and other items from the office. There’s plenty of nature and lots of hiking trails right on the campground. It’s also great that dogs are welcome. We always love coming back ❤️

Unfortunately, our spot right next to the paddock didn't have any shade after all. Otherwise, we would have brought our tarp.
A Wonderful Vacation in the Black Forest
An all-around lovely campground;
as soon as we pulled in, we were greeted by lots of beautiful summer flowers.

At the little corner store, you can order fresh bread rolls and pick up cold drinks and ice cream, among other things.

The restroom facilities are modern and beautifully designed.

At check-in,... you can even borrow games and balls.

At the playground, you can enjoy a great game of volleyball, table tennis, or basketball.

Right from the campground, you can take advantage of scenic paths for walking, jogging, or biking.

The campground is beautifully situated on the outskirts of Lenzkirch and offers many opportunities for day trips, both in the surrounding area and right from the campground itself.
The brewery inn, as well as the local restaurants, are highly recommended.
The beverages produced at the brewery are all... delicious across the board.
The new restroom facilities in front of the swimming pool and in the basement of the reception building are great.
The restroom facilities in the connecting building near the dishwashing area and the rental bathrooms in the basement of the same building are showing their age.
Room for improvement:
The rental bathrooms should be mopped at least every two days, and the fixtures should be cleaned once a week—you’d actually expect that given the rental price (how is a guest supposed to clean them themselves when there are no cleaning supplies or a squeegee?).
The small shop selling drinks and other basic necessities is well-stocked; however, the opening hours are limited, and the baked goods are unfortunately not recommended (though there is a good bakery/café in town).
Unfortunately, there are no footpaths between the main roads, which—due to the lack of fencing around the campsites—means that other campers are constantly walking across your site and riding bikes or scooters to take shortcuts—this is very annoying due to the lack of privacy and also poses a risk of damage to vehicles, RVs, and tents (hardly anyone notices the posted signs regarding this)—if permanent footpaths were established and signposted here, it would certainly alleviate the problem.
Given the many nationalities present and their varying attitudes toward the rules, it would be appropriate for the groundskeeper or operator to make a “patrol” around the campground in the evenings after 10:00 p.m. to curb excessive and noisy parties or group conversations; Depending on the neighborhood, some people don’t get to sleep until late at night while on vacation….

A cute spot—with nice campsites
The campground is very clean and lovingly maintained. Flowers have been planted everywhere and are tended to daily.
The new restroom facilities are great; the old ones are very clean and well-maintained as well.
The tent field and the pasture are both great places to pitch a tent.
Since the ground is... flat or nearly flat, the site feels very cozy and is quite spacious. We had no trouble setting up our 7.50-meter tent with additional guy lines, an extra seating area, and our car.
In the “other” area, however, the many RVs make it feel more like a parking lot.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much greenery (like hedges or trees) on the campground itself, so there’s little shade, and you’re sometimes right next door to your neighbors.
The indoor pool is nice, but you have to wait a while to find a quiet time slot.
The swimming pond was a highlight for us and the kids; everything here is lovingly landscaped with trees and so on. During our stay, it was unfortunately closed for the rest of the time after three days (bacteria had formed due to the heat).
The playground is incredibly diverse, and care is taken to ensure that everything is safe and in good working order.

Conclusion:
Overall, a very nice place, especially if you’re traveling with a tent.
Given the heat and, above all, the dry weather this summer, there was far too little shade, and the closed swimming pond was a major disappointment for our children.

Of course, there’s plenty to do in Lenzkirch and throughout the Upper Black Forest—plenty of things to experience from there if you’re in the mood for excursions.

Camped at the Kreuzhof for 11 days
Even though we booked during peak season—and the campground was fully booked—we never noticed that it was at full capacity.
We’ve never seen bathrooms this clean and high-quality before. We extended our stay by four nights, and the staff was very accommodating and made everything possible.
Incidentally,... the campground was very affordable, which we realized even more after the fact.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time and are absolutely thrilled—which doesn’t happen very often for me.

Younger and younger children have been playing in the medical wing—being loud, screaming, and running around—and, unfortunately, the showers and restrooms were very often left dirty.
Great campground
We felt very comfortable at this family-run campground. It had everything we needed, including nice, lovingly designed restrooms—which, unfortunately, weren’t always left clean; that’s the guests’ fault, not the staff’s.
What bothered us was that there were often children in the restroom area, running... through the hallways screaming loudly, even though there were plenty of activities available on the campground. Supposedly, the hallways are under video surveillance, but we would have liked to see the staff step in from time to time.

A great family vacation in the Upper Black Forest, with a few minor drawbacks regarding the San
We spent a few wonderful days at the Kreuzhof campground in late July 2026—we were traveling as a family with two elementary school-aged children and our big dog.
**Location & Atmosphere:**
The campground, owned by the Rogg family (who also run the local private brewery—a plus for beer lovers!), is beautifully... situated at an altitude of about 1,000 meters. Although it stretches along the main road to Bonndorf, you hardly notice the traffic because the grounds are situated slightly below street level. Overall, the campground is very clean and well-maintained. A quick tip: Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, as there’s not much natural shade.
**Highlights for Kids & Leisure:**
There’s really a lot on offer here for families:
* **The swimming pond:** An absolute hit with our kids! The pond is beautifully landscaped and teeming with life (dragonflies, tadpoles, etc.)—pure nature.
* **Playground & Sports:** The playground is located at the far end of the campground, so the kids can run around there safely and without being disturbed. There’s also a beach volleyball court.
* **Indoor Pool:** A nice bonus is the small indoor pool, perfect for cooler days.
**Facilities & Store:**
There’s a small store on the campground for essentials. Be sure to keep an eye on the opening hours (mornings until 11:00 a.m., afternoons from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
**Restroom Facilities (the reason for the one-star deduction):**
The newly built restroom facility features modern private stalls with showers and toilets. While this is great for privacy, it unfortunately leads to longer wait times during peak hours. Given the overall size of the campground, the number of toilets and wash stations is a bit

We had a wonderful stay at the Lenzkirch campground. Quiet Campground
