"Great campsite - Campingplatz Bergmühle is somewhat hidden, close to the highway (but still very quiet) and has a beautiful old tree population. We were there for the first time at Easter 2025 and were thrilled. Anyone looking for a campsite with action and entertainment is in the wrong place. It is a former mill, with a stream, a playground, barbecue facilities for groups and small picnic huts dotted around the site. The owners, Saskia and Peter Kumm, always have an open ear and are very friendly. Getting here is also uncomplicated. You park in front of the wooden bridge, register either at reception or via a terminal and can then drive in with license plate recognition. Dogs are also welcome here. The camp card, which is required for showering, can be obtained from reception. If you shower sparingly, you pay less. You are only charged for what you use. No annoying flat rates for a fixed time. Behind the older (but very clean) bathroom, which is unfortunately not barrier-free due to the design of the mill, there is a washing machine and a dryer (for a fee). There are also two dishwashing facilities with hot water. The campsite also has a lovingly furnished kiosk with fair prices and the operator also offers pizza to go. Which is also reasonably priced. The current prices (Whitsun 2025) are between €8.90 and €10.90. This is also restaurant quality and not cheap baked pizzas. There is a nice little playground and a mini golf course for the children. Clubs, balls, pencil and pad are available for a fee. The reception offers many brochures and has an insider tip here and there.

"Insider tip - We, two adults and our dog, a Ridgeback mix, stayed at the Bergmühle campsite for 5 days. We only ended up there because we couldn't get a pitch for a long weekend anywhere else in the area without a reservation. We were all the more surprised when we ended up at this campsite with pitches still available. The reception by the owner was extremely warm and courteous. The Bergmühle campsite is an exceptional, lovingly designed yet natural, very dog-friendly and well-kept campsite for anyone looking for peace and relaxation. You can go walking or cycling in the area. There are several small villages in the immediate vicinity, a castle with parks and a supermarket about 3 km away. The nearest larger town is Salzgitter, about 20 km away. We rode our bikes to the Salzgittersee, about 15 km of cycle path, easy to ride. The owners are extremely hospitable and recommended a place that suited us on arrival - just great! In the small store there are fresh bread rolls every day and everything you need to live, you can even order pizza. The sanitary facilities are very clean. Showers for 4 minutes cost 1 euro. Unfortunately, we deduct 1 small point here, as the time continues to run even if you turn off the shower in between. The pitches are partly shady under trees, partly sunny on the grass - anything but boring! There is also a small mini golf course and a playground. There are plenty of great trails around the campsite for walking your dog. Conclusion: An absolute insider tip for a few days of rest and relaxation. Absolutely recommended. We would love to come back.

"Relaxation and nature - A very idyllic campsite at an old watermill. Very friendly operators. There are woodland pitches and sunny grass pitches. The new pitches have water and electricity directly on site. The pitches are nice and large. Fresh bread rolls can be ordered in advance. New beautiful children's playground. Very nicely laid out mini golf course at a low price. The sanitary facilities are older, but nice and warm and clean at all times of the day. Showers cost €1 for 4 minutes. The chemical spout takes some getting used to. Overall, you can feel that this site is being renovated bit by bit and that further investment is being made. Located directly on the river "Innerste", the site is very idyllic and quiet. Ideal for excursions in the surrounding area, for bike tours and for walks with your four-legged friend. Dear operators: keep up the good work and this place will soon become the jewel of the region. A particular highlight was baking pizzas in the wood-fired oven with our small group.

"Quiet, natural place - Short rating, as we only used the campsite for 1 night when we were passing through. Only a few minutes from the highway. Quaint location, great access via the two bridges. Very warm and friendly welcome! The site is in a natural setting and very quiet. We had a pitch under trees on grass, water tap nearby. The sanitary facilities are simple and functional, but a bit outdated and quite cramped in the actually large mill building. Cleanliness was great! The bread roll service is good (pre-order until 9pm) and the baked goods were very tasty at reasonable prices.

"Great long weekend! - We spent a great long weekend here, mainly hiking. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly among the guests and the Kumm family. It really is an ideal place for tent campers. After hiking, a short swim in the Innerste will revive tired legs, charging your cell phone quickly for the next day's tour is also no problem and you can treat yourself to an ice cream or pizza in the evening. The sanitary facilities were great, the table tennis table and mini golf were super nice and the whole site with the old mill is simply idyllic! We will be back!

"Very beautifully situated campsite - We had chosen this campsite for our transit (one overnight stay) to the north. We were pleasantly surprised by the location and the beautiful old mill.
