Campsite that delighted us
For motorhomes, tents and short-term campers with caravans, the pitches are at the lower end of the campsite. The walk to the beach is only about 250 meters. A dog beach is only a few meters away. The operators and the groundsman are very friendly and helpful. In the kiosk next to the reception there... are not only bread rolls, but many other groceries. Cakes, wine, jam etc. The sanitary facilities are very clean and are thoroughly cleaned twice a day. There are some campers with dogs on the site but there was no recognizable contamination of dog excrement. The noise level can be classified as normal. Children play and are sometimes a bit louder and from time to time you can hear a dog barking. The size of the pitches can be classified as above average. We visited this campsite for the first time in 2024, but will be back.

You have to really like dogs!
Only suitable for dog lovers: It's always barking and yapping somewhere all day long.
And there's poop everywhere.
Not recommended.

Super, right on the dog beach
We particularly liked the spatial separation from the permanent campers. As a tourist, you are somewhat secluded and close to the beach, but a little further away from the sanitary facilities. The permanent campers are all friendly and open-minded, the groundsman is friendly and helpful, but also assertive.... That's how it should be.
The sanitary facilities are very clean and modern. Shower units are stored on a transponder, which you also need for the barrier. We got along very well with the shower fee and the timing. You can also recharge at reception at any time. We also liked the fact that the cars are parked outside the campsite in a parking lot, even if it was a bit unusual at first.
And yes, there are always those tourists who think that because they are leaving the next day, they won't drive their car out in the evening. You can do that, but it's just crap.
We were completely satisfied with the CP.
Oh yes, you can also buy bread rolls in the little store on site.

Bad
The bad-tempered groundsman (or rather block warden) walks around the pitch all day and mobs everyone and everything that comes in front of him.

Cooking and cooling facilities for cyclists would be desirable.
Nice place, recommendable
I arrived there with my bike and tent and was given a very friendly welcome. I was given two places to choose from. There are tables and benches in the tent areas, just as you would expect. The other tourist campers are also well accommodated. The beach is right on the doorstep. All that's missing now is cooking and cooling facilities for cyclists. Then it would be perfect.

Hello Mr. Dannenberg,

Thank you for your great review.
We have a dishwashing room combined with a small kitchen and fridge-freezer for free use.
Thank you for the note, we will mention this in the future so that the guest can find this offer better.

With kind regards
Bernd Schöning

Absolutely top - back to basic
... no frills. Beautiful, very clean site - lots of permanent campers and a manageable area for short-stay campers - therefore a very friendly atmosphere. We were traveling with 2 kids (8 and 12) with the WoWa and the children could easily go alone through the area or to the beach nozzles. It was not the last vacation there... :-)

We have been coming to this beautiful campsite since 2009 and find it simply ideal for relaxing. Well maintained sanitary facilities. The whole crew (including the Ostsseblick kiosk) is very friendly and helpful. Always happy to return.

Three beautiful days at the Baltic Sea
Hi, I was camping with my two children (6 and 9) as part of a Baltic Sea bike tour. The campsite is quite far away from the only toilet block. It has a key system, i.e. showers without coins! Super. The beach is within easy walking distance. The small store next to the registration/entrance offers everything... you need and even a full breakfast! The groundsman Norbert comes across as a bit unfriendly, the notice at the entrance "5 km/h! If you drive faster, you have to walk!" certainly comes from him. The owner Bernd is very nice, always friendly and helpful. My daughter had injured herself quite badly while driving the Dino-Car; first aid equipment etc. was no problem at all. I would come back any time!

This is how camping should be!
A place that comes close to 5*. Very nice host family and employees who try to help you out of any problems you may have. The sanitary facilities on the site are cleaned at least 3 times a day and are always in tip-top order. Very nice and fine sandy beach and a small "food mile" is also available there. We loved staying there and felt at home during the 3 weeks and had a great rest. :)

Nice relaxing summer vacation 2014
We spent our summer vacation in 2014 at the Schöning campsite and it was simply wonderful. The site is very clean and well maintained overall. This also applies to the sanitary building. The beach, which is only a 3-minute walk away, is simply fantastic. Super sandy beach, great water quality. We and the children (5 and almost 8) felt very comfortable and will definitely be back.

We have been coming here for 1-2 weeks in October for years. The location away from the hustle and bustle and stress, but adjacent to a huge nature reserve with thousands of migratory birds (even white-tailed eagles) gives us the opportunity to relax. Clean sanitary facilities and friendly staff available.... Recommended: At the end of September there is a lantern and torchlight procession with musical accompaniment and fireworks at the end... We will be back.
