The hot water quality in the dishwashing area needs improvement. On the one hand, we’re constantly being urged to conserve water, but on the other hand, we have to let the water run for 10 minutes just to wash the dishes properly.

A beautiful spot right on Lake Clausensee. The staff was very friendly both on the phone and in person—I highly recommend this great spot, which is close to the lake. Free access to the lake and the sunbathing area. There’s a bread roll service, a few shaded spots, and it’s not overcrowded. The restrooms, showers, and wash areas are clean and tidy.

A beautiful and peaceful location on Lake Clausensee. Great hiking and biking opportunities.

Even though there are Robidogs all around the lake, you can't walk all the way around it with your dog. It doesn't make much sense that way.

Beautiful days
We spent a week at the Clausensee campground. We really enjoyed our stay. Despite the holiday and the high occupancy rate, it was fairly quiet on the grounds. The restrooms looked as though they were cleaned even at night. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking and biking around the campground.... A Kneipp path and a free outdoor pool are included. The on-site restaurant is great and offers good value for the price.

Nice toilet facilities, clean, child-friendly, beautiful spot in the middle of the Palatinate Forest. Great restaurant, many activities possible. Spacious pitch with fresh water and electricity.
Negativ
Bathing area for dogs a bit unloving. If you are only traveling alone with a dog, it is still acceptable, but unsuitable for families, as the area is not so great for children. Dogs therefore have to stay put, which is a shame. Otherwise nothing to complain about 😉

We feel very comfortable here. Nice people, great space for children and lots on offer. Too bad we only had 3 nights.

Quiet, very clean, friendly staff. You have the possibility to rent an e-car if you are traveling with the Womo. Bread roll service on site. Beautiful surroundings good for hiking or cycling.

The prices for space and also for drinks are already in an upscale price range. The playground is also getting on in years. The access to the forest could also be improved. We were there in April and the selection in the store is already limited.
Extended weekend at Lake Clausen
The pitches are large and level, with water and drainage connections and, of course, electricity. Shopping, beer gardens and restaurants are within easy reach.
The cocktail bar is open at the weekend and there is also live music.

The weekend at the Waldfischbach-Bergenalben campsite was, as I described above, very nice and a good place to relax.

Our feel-good place around the corner
We feel comfortable here and an extended weekend is always possible.
The poor mobile reception is simply due to the location and the campsite operator can't help it.
WLAN could be improved, but we even watched TV (with a bit of jerkiness).
Otherwise, you have everything you need here and if you need anything, the ladies at reception will be happy to help.

Very nice place gladly again
We stayed at this beautiful campsite for 5 nights over the long weekend on October 3rd and were very satisfied. A friendly welcome with the most important information, short and sweet, great information material and off we went. Immediately after setting up, we were in the kiosk which welcomed us with... a wide range of cakes and delicious coffee. We were able to enjoy the sunshine by the beautiful lake. The W-LAN was perfect for us and we were also very happy with everything else.
I found the sanitary facilities great, clean and tidy, good for ventilation and if some people have complained here, it is also up to us to leave the toilets as we would like to find them ourselves.
Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

An all-round perfect camping vacation
I spent a week at this campsite and it was simply wonderful! The atmosphere is very warm - everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. I would particularly like to emphasize the clean and well-kept sanitary facilities as well as the extensive information material on hikes in the area.

The site offers... everything you need for a relaxing stay: a restaurant, a small kiosk and of course the lake, which is perfect for relaxing. We really wanted for nothing. You are so close to nature here and can enjoy every minute.

I felt completely at ease and will definitely book again. Absolutely recommendable!

Apart from the fact that the cleanliness of the toilets decreases during the day - which is also due to the one or other user - the place is great:
- great location in the middle of the forest
- Very spacious with extra tent pitches (on the edge, very large)
- great lake with lots of leisure activities... (pedal boats, SUP)
- good restaurant right on the lake

Yes, it is full in high season and yes, the cell phone reception is not great, but you know that...

I always enjoy coming back in changing groups and am already looking forward to the next time!

- Arrival complicated (narrow road if you don't know the other way) - dirty wash houses (one was just ok, the other looked like a trailer from a horror movie) - run-down caravans and rental accommodation scattered across the site - Restaurant seemed unkempt and simple, therefore not tested - Mass instead of class
Place would have potential due to top location, but....
Not at all acceptable for us, we left early. At the latest when the feces from the missing toilet brush holder flowed across the washroom, the vacation mood was blown away.
The lifeblood of a lovingly run place is missing here.

We spent our summer vacation at this campsite and were bitterly disappointed. The site was massively overbooked - so much so that guests were even forced to camp on the sidewalk. As a result, the fresh water source was completely empty. There was... no water at all for a whole day, then only cold water for days and no drinking water for several days.

The sanitary facilities were in a catastrophic state. The toilets were overflowing with faeces as it was no longer possible to flush them. The so-called "camping butler" was so filthy and full of faeces that we preferred to clean it ourselves by hand. Showers were only possible with cold water and there was no clean drinking water anywhere on the site. When asked, we were only told that we could "boil it".

What was particularly shocking was that the restaurant continued to cook with contaminated water despite the water problems. At the same time, attempts are made to collect additional money at every turn - even for your own SUP board, you are charged €2.50 per day.

The site itself is unkempt, full of dog waste and looks completely run down. Many guests (including us) broke off their stay early because the conditions were simply intolerable.

What a shame, because the location had great potential. Unfortunately, the campsite is completely neglected by the operator and only designed for short-term income - at the expense of hygiene, safety and hospitality.

Stream and bathing lake directly on the site. Dog friendly. Enough and often dog bags and disposal stations. Showers for dogs. Restaurant is good, also for take-away. Kiosk has everything you need. Wifi is sufficient. Stream usable, very pleasantly cool. very friendly staff at reception. Tent meadow (2) flat and shady. Family friendly. Somewhat few toilets, but sufficient. Several dishwashing sinks on site. Washing machines.

No network due to location Water pressure was temporarily weak/failed. Check in and check out times both from 11am. very awkward. little space at reception to park/park vehicle

Not as expected
I expect a little more from a 4 star campsite. WLAN which would be nice due to the non-existent mobile network was very weak to non-existent.
The sanitary facilities on the tent meadow 2 were not nice. Shower defective, not so attractive. At the entrance to the men's side, the floor inside was defective... and provisionally repaired.
Sanitary building 1 was ok but very cramped. There were no facilities for hanging up your wash bag, bath towel and clothes in the showers.
Sanitary building 2 was better but a bit away from the tent meadow. The showers were bigger and cleaner. However, there was also no possibility to hang up your wash bag, bath towel and clothes.
All in all, not such a bad campsite but 4 stars, there is still a lot missing.

Great place!
We stayed at the Clausensee campsite for ten days in July 2025. We were joined by our dog and two grandchildren for a few days. We can only recommend this campsite! It has a great location in the Palatinate Forest and the lake is perfect for swimming and bathing. We also loved the restaurant on the site,... especially the beer garden and the food. The sanitary facilities were also excellent and were cleaned frequently. Our pitch offered shade and there was a stream flowing behind us. We have absolutely nothing to complain about and would love to come back.
