Very busy road at the campsite DIRECTLY at the tourist pitches. Night's rest when the campsite is occupied by groups of young people: NO SHADOW! No shade - very hot in summer!
This place is NOT for those seeking peace and quiet!
We were warmly welcomed and our pitch request was granted - thank you for that. Unfortunately we didn't get the Alb-Card automatically at check-in (according to the homepage) - we didn't get it at all because we hadn't read it beforehand. So ask the lady at check-in!
The sanitary facilities are of a... normal standard. They are very tight - the building at the entrance has 4 toilets for the ladies, 1 of which was closed due to Corona, for the men 3 toilets (1 of which was also closed) + 2 urinals. For women and men 3 showers each (1 of which was also closed) with coins - shower time with 1 coin was sufficient, as the time stops when the water is turned off - 2 wash cabins and 3 washbasins. At the back of the pitch there is a "toilet house" with 2 toilets for the ladies and 1 toilet + 1 urinal for the men and sinks outside. Far too few when fully occupied!
The lighting is probably being skimped on, as it was only on once and not all night!
As we were "tied" to the campsite due to a handicap, we were mostly at our camper. As a result, we could hear every car that passed directly behind our caravan (NOT at walking pace). As the weather was sunny, there were lots of them - almost every minute a car drove past - visitors to the reservoir, the restaurants, the miniature golf course, the petting zoo and the miniature town - they all drove in and out once - as the road is a dead end. Late into the night (restaurants close at 10 p.m., after that it gets quieter) - the site operators can't really help that. However, it is their responsibility to ensure that the campers - especially the young people on the campsites - keep quiet at night. Unfortunately, we had to ensure peace and quiet ourselves. Permanent campers also reported loud parties at the lake late into the night.
You can only go shopping in the town after you have climbed a few meters.

Very nice welcome, helpful operator who always has good tips in store, great surroundings

At the weekend, a number of other day visitors found it nice here.
Rarely felt so comfortable
Cute little campsite. We felt completely at home. Everything is clean and in good condition, the owner is a very nice and helpful woman. You can hike in the countryside, go to the lake, the amusement park and the petting zoo. There are two restaurants in the immediate vicinity and you can go shopping... in the nearby town... At the end of our short stay, we realized that we hadn't been able to go fossil digging (the real reason for our trip), which we quickly made up for on the way back.

Right on the lake, miniature village next door great for (small) children, pizza on the square delicious

no shopping facilities on the square, tourist pitches seem a bit desolate
ok for a weekend
The pitches for tourists are along a strip on the long side of the square. Ours was gravel and quite sloping. There were grass pitches further back, which I always find much more pleasant, especially for our three-year-old daughter. There are lots of trees on the long side, otherwise there was no greenery... - it made it look rather unloving. The permanent campers have really "built themselves in", including the front garden with lots of decorations and lighting, hedges, some motion detectors for the outdoor lighting... I think it's a shame when campers set themselves apart like that and the site management allows it. We received a very friendly welcome from the lady at the campsite. There is an Italian restaurant right on the site, the service is very nice and our pizzas were very tasty and huge, so the price is also ok. There is no bread roll service and no possibility to buy anything on site. You can walk into the town, which takes about 15 minutes. We were there because it was so warm and we also wanted to swim in the lake: it went very well, even with our little one, because it goes in very shallow. There is a very large sunbathing lawn with lots of trees as well as sunbathing areas, and the lake is very beautiful overall. There is a kiosk with seating above the sunbathing lawn, which unfortunately wasn't open when we were there. There is also a small boat rental, but I didn't take a close look at it. The miniature village next to the campsite, about 150m away, was great for our little one (and us): about 25 faithfully reproduced half-timbered houses, in between small attractions such as a train, mini chain carousel, electric diggers, mini racetrack and small enclosures with animals, some of which could also be stroked (goats, ponies, ostriches, alpacas). The rides cost around 1 euro, you don't have to pay admission - I think that's very fair. There is a small playground on the site with swings and slides, which is not particularly well maintained but better than none. In short: a place for a weekend but not for us for longer. It seems to be designed more for permanent guests.

The size of the pitch makes it ideal for children!

Shopping facilities a bit far away on foot. But no problem with a vehicle.
Manageable, clean campsite with a nice atmosphere
We spent 3 days in Schömberg with our nephews and really enjoyed the time swimming and hiking. The food in the campsite restaurant was great, the kids felt completely safe and comfortable. The sanitary facilities were always clean, pleasant people on the site and above all the senior manager was super... nice! Thank you Heidi! The Plettenberg was a delight with its incredible views and the places to stop for refreshments (Plettenberghütte, Ölmühle) were beautifully situated (always with a children's playground, as on the campsite itself).

Small, nice site with a swimming lake and a pizzeria. It is kept simple, the grounds are well-kept and the sanitary building is a little older. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We would love to come back.

dirty showers, toilets and the kitchen area, as well as the chemical area
nice place, but sanitary area not recommended
The sanitary facilities are not cleaned for several days and look accordingly. There is mold in the men's showers....................there needs to be a few things fixed on the campsite to make it more attractive........................

Great area. Delicious restaurant. Great for children (and adults)

Holes in the path should be filled. Water slide in the shower is rusty. Mold on the ceiling of the showers - unclean and moldy.
Nice campsite.
We received a very friendly welcome. Great area to do something and relax. What we didn't like so much is that something should be done here and there.

nice little place
I stayed at this campsite for three months. I found the operator to be very nice and accommodating. There were no problems at all, not even with the paperwork (not as described by other campers). The pitches at the entrance, where I stood, are slightly sloping, graveled and not parceled out. At the start... of the season, the paths were all reworked and all the holes filled in. As it only snows very little in winter and the site is actually empty, only the entrance area is cleared. For me, that was absolutely sufficient. The campsite is mainly occupied by permanent campers. There is a small road next to the campsite which also serves as a feeder road for the two restaurants (no through traffic). However, the restaurants are always busy and so there is a lot of traffic during opening hours. Speed bumps (humps) would help to calm the traffic here. However, it wasn't too loud for me. The sanitary building is of a reasonable standard and was always clean. Unfortunately, showering is only possible with coins. I really liked the huge dishwashing sink and the very hot water. There are also hotplates available for those who don't want to work in the caravan. The pizzeria next to the campsite is not run by Italians, which you can taste. There are two supermarkets in the village 1km away (an Edeka with a good fresh meat/fresh fish counter), banks, petrol station etc.

Sanitary building in need of renovation (especially the small one)
Happy Whitsun weekend
Had a nice long WE here in Schömberg. Despite the extremely heavy rain at the beginning, the course recovered quickly. The washed-out path was repaired immediately after the storm. The people on the site were super nice. The sanitary building is a bit older but was clean. The surroundings, the lake and the pizzeria are great. It was a shame that the weather was mixed and we couldn't go swimming. But it was still nice. We will definitely be back

bathing area,pizzeria,excursion possibilities
Negativ
poor cleanliness, overcrowding, price too high
Unfortunately overcrowded and unclean
the cp is strongly characterized by permanent campers.good bathing possibility at the adjacent reservoir, good pizzeria on site.two sanitary buildings at the place, the one at the entrance would be good to use,if more attention was paid to cleanliness(over pentecost was not cleaned, overflowing waste garbage... cans, paper waste and heavy soiling of mirrors and floor)shower unfortunately costs extra.no shopping possibility at the place.anmeldundg unfortunately only very rarely open(approx.2the second sanitary building further back at the campsite is in a poor state of repair and is even worse in terms of cleanliness than the one at the entrance.at the time of our stay there were youth groups in front of the campsite who also used the sanitary facilities on the campsite.the campsite would be nice because of its excursion possibilities and the bathing area, but has considerable cleanliness and construction defects.this means that the campsite has a poor price-performance ratio.
