Cruise ships always make for great photo opportunities.NegativaI’m sorry to say that the Förde Hiking Trail is closed between Neustein and Stein due to the collapse of the cliffs. However, you can still walk along the beach. The shallow-water shoreline is ideal for children. Personally, I prefer to swim in deep water right away, which is why I usually bike to Stein (1.5 km).A beautiful campground on the cliffsI’ve been a long-term camper here for many years and feel completely at home here. Because of other commitments, I can only visit sporadically. But whenever I do, it’s always a wonderful little getaway.
The campground is lovingly, warmly, and conscientiously managed and maintained by the Brandts. They... and everyone else are always helpful; Holger, the owner’s right-hand man, and Jürgen, who can be reached even at night in an emergency, have helped me out many times. I can’t comment on the food, since I cook for myself. However, I’ve often eaten pizza and other dishes with guests at the campground next door; I’ve also enjoyed tarte flambée and other popular dishes at “Tatort Stein.”
In Laboe, just 2 km away, there are plenty of great restaurants and events. Kiteboarding courses and much more are also offered in Laboe and Stein. Laboe and the surrounding area have a lot more to offer—please Google it for details.
It’s best to come here as a vacationer first and then become a long-term camper, since it’s much more affordable. After checking in, we were met at the pitch and given instructions. That was a great help, because you don't know the wind direction. We had a great view of the sea. The pitch is on a cliff. You can get to the beach via a staircase. There are 2 wash houses, the smaller of... which is not heated. Everything is super clean and well maintained. Bread rolls can be purchased on the neighboring pitch,
less than a 5-minute walk away.
There is a restaurant on the site where the food tastes very good and the prices are reasonable. There is also a snack bar on the neighboring square where you can quickly get something to eat. You can get to Laboe on foot in 20 minutes and by bike in 5 minutes. There are great cycle paths towards Kiel and to Schöneberg beach right by the sea. We are thrilled.
It was very quiet on the pitch. Dogs are not allowed, which we found very good.
