Quiet, beautifully situated site - dogs welcome (Kiessee / Weserwerder)
We were there over Ascension 2019 with dog. Quiet location (traffic) at former gravel pit with cut-through to the Weser and Weserwerder. Friendly operator. Dogs are welcome on the site, unlike in the small restaurant "Hafenblick", which is located on the site (different operator!). If you want to visit... the restaurant with a dog, you will be accommodated together with smokers in the "tent conservatory". Bread roll service is organized smartly and reliably by the campsite owner. Actually a perfect, quiet site in a fantastic location, but we didn't get the pitch on the Werder that we had discussed on the phone and had been promised. Instead, we were given a pitch at the former gravel lake = harbor basin, which was actually no problem - as it was also beautiful. This small area is located between the slipway and the restaurant. We were asked if that was OK for us - there would be another motorhome next to us (6 pitches with us), everything else would remain free. So far so good. When we came back from a wonderful, extensive bike tour on the 2nd day, we couldn't believe our eyes. There were 6 more caravans / motorhomes on the small section and the next day a 13th camper was to squeeze in. Every now and then a fuse in the power distributor blew. The vehicles that wanted to use the slipway added to this cramped situation. Not really a problem if this area hadn't been overcrowded with campers. There is only one toilet block for the entire site, which is also difficult to ventilate (shared entrance with the restaurant). It only has 2 showers, each with a washbasin (cold water). Showers cost 50 cents for 4 minutes. I did not try out whether hot water works at the washbasin when the "penny grave" is activated, as the shower time is quite short (it takes a while until hot water comes, unless someone has showered beforehand). The toilets have a mini hand basin with soap and a hand dryer. It would be desirable to have better ventilation in the sanitary area and more showers, as well as to keep to the entrance and exit signs. Otherwise a nice, recommendable place with a friendly owner. If the office is not occupied, it is no problem to reach him by phone. We would be happy to come again, just not on public holidays, which are used as a long weekend.

Simple standard, directly on the water
The sanitary buildings are a bit dated, but reasonably clean. Hot showers cost extra, but the place was very, very cheap for us as two cyclists and we were able to camp right by the harbor. Highly recommended for cyclists passing through, there is nothing missing.

Hikers should note that you first have to walk quite a distance on asphalt paths to reach the beautiful trails. For those who don't mind ;-
Good place
We were here as part of a meeting. I really have to praise the operator here. Extremely friendly and helpful. We already felt very welcome at the reception. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great and as we were standing on the meadow we got a bit muddy. But we were rescued within minutes thanks to the active help of the operator with the wheel loader. Overall it was great and we would love to come back.
